The receptionists were fine and very pleasant. However, the technician should be fired. I do not take that statement lightly. He was rude and argumentative. I had to remove all clothing from the waist up. He gave me one paper gown. I asked for a second one for modesty, which is absolutely standard at doctors offices and any other x-ray or mammogram clinic. I would guess that most women want their breasts covered when doors are open to the hallway. He argued with me that I didn't need it. I told him I needed it for when the door was open to the hallway. He was extremely rude. I told him I was already uncomfortable having him doing the procedure and he was making it worse. He told me to leave and go to the hospital to get the procedure done as that was the only other place. Which of course is an absolute lie. He was rude and rough during the entire procedure. I may take this complaint to whatever the governing body is for the technicians.
I have never had a great experience with my pregnancy ultrasounds with Avantia, but my most recent one has confirmed that I will not be returning. Technicians are never very friendly or chatty. At any other clinic or hospital the tech are cheery and excited about the ultrasound. Techs at Avantia are very clearly there to do their job and go home. We asked our tech to keep our baby gender a secret, we weren’t 100% sure how or if we wanted to know. She let it slip multiple times during the appointment and when I went to the washroom, once again she let it slip to my husband. I was also able to tell on the screen the gender. From my understanding they are supposed to look at that with the screen off or tell you to look away. It completely ruined our excitement, since our first pregnancy was through Covid and not the most enjoyable experience. Extremely disappointed with the services provided.
I looked all over the city and everywhere was fully booked for 1-2 weeks out. They were able to get me an appointment the next day. The location was very clean and the staff were friendly. They made sure I was comfortable throughout my visit. Best imagining clinic I’ve visited in Ottawa, I highly recommend coming here!
I went on a Saturday for an xray around 3pm and was seen in less than 15 min, which was amazing. I had to book my ultrasound with them for another day because they don't do walk-ins for that service, so I did that while I waited. They accommodated my schedule and booked me in the next 3 days which was great. Tory did my foot xray and it was quick and simple. She was also just an amazing person overall. Highly recommend this place even though its almost a 40 min drive from my home.
Place was spotlessly clean and receptionists were pleasant and helpful. X Ray technician was lovely and made my 2 year old very comfortable; not easy to do with a sick toddler getting a chest x ray. Would have been a much worse experience without her kindness.
Very professional and kind staff, I was able to get a same day appointment and was seen quickly after arriving at the clinic, the technician was very professional. The clinic feels very clean and new. Highly recommend.
I recently saw my Dr concerning a new lump that was found on my arm. She recommended I have an ultrasound to get a better look at things. I had recently for a different issue had an appointment with Avantia a month before. At that time , the staff were professional and lovely so I requested going back to avantia over an hour drive from my home due to their availability of appointments and good experience. This appointment did not go as well. The technician greeted me and showed me to the room. He then asked me to show him the “mass”on my arm, which is under the skin and about the size of a toonie. He asked me then to show him My other arm … and asked me “ are they different”? Ummm… yes they are different.. there’s a lump. He then asked if a Dr had seen this “lump”? Yes…. That’s why I’m here. He then asked “ if the Dr examined it?”. Of course she did….that’s why I’m here. I left feeling foolish and angry for taking a day off work to drive over an hour to get a mysterious lump examined that the technician clearly couldn’t see visually below the skin.I thought that was what the ultrasound was for.? I doubt I will request return visit based on this experience .
Very nice place with pleasant administrator and ultrasound techs. They've provided very detailed result of the ultrasound, as requested, and were caring and attentive to my personal situation and health issues. Thank you!
Had a great appointment. Prompt , on time , efficient and pleasant. No issue making an appointment. Will continue to use this facility if the need arises.
Always clean, staff both front desk and technicians are warm, polite and friendly and technicians are always on time for appointments.
