Almonte General Hospital

I spent a few hours in emerg in amongst some pretty unwell folks. It was fuller than one would anticipate for a Saturday morning and things seemed to be moving slowly. Then the nurse in all of her kindness came out to speak to the waiting room to apologize for the delay, that there was a very urgent case that came in. And then she said “I wish I could offer you all tea and biscuits but we have coffee available if you’d like some” These past almost 3 years have been taxing for all, but for health care providers, it’s been especially hard. Thank you all and thank you to this nurse for your compassion in the midst of your own pressures.

Almost everyone at the hospital was very polite and friendly. The hospital was very clean and tidy aswell. However the blond old radiologist that was working on the afternoon of Oct 14 was very unprofessional. She stated that my reason for visiting the hospital was not an emergency and that I should be seeing a family doctor for my pneumonia. However having no family doctor and trying to see one is impossible especially when I am leaving for abroad in a week. She kept trying to justify herself. And I had to inform and defend myself from her, for my situation for the visit, which was reasonable to be there. She is not a judge for who can and cannot visit the hospital. Extremely unprofessional with a condescending demeanor. At the end she said that she is just doing "her part to educate people". Which does not lie within her duties and she does not know what other people's situations are to be making acquisitions. Overall the hospital is good, one bad apple does not speak for everyone at the hospital. However her behaviour sets a bad example.

My wife gave birth in this hospital. Our experience was exceptional. The staff is super friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. We had an amazing experience. I definitely recommend giving birth her here.

The emergency care I received last week was phenomenal. My electrolyte imbalance was treated quickly, efficiently, and kindly. I can't say enough about Allison, the RN, and Dr. Leah Jones. As a retired ICU nurse, I was so impressed , and so grateful, for the superior care and kindness.

Went to Almonte after a motor vehicle accident at 12 weeks pregnant. Had to wait over 5.5 hours and waited so long that the ultrasound technician had left and we were unable to assess the health of my unborn child. When I informed the nurses I was in more pain and inquired about the ultrasound they were rude and not at all helpful. I can see this type of treatment downtown or at a busy city hospital, I thought Almonte was better than this.

Took my son, waited 2.5 hours to be told wrist is not broken go home. no X-ray and 2 minute exam 3 weeks later I take my son for an X-ray because he is still complaining and his wrist is in fact broken! Not impressed.

The ER staff should be more caring and polite. Lack of empathy. Avoid this place

Now into the 5th hour waiting see a doctor, no patient has been seen in the past 2 hrs. A big shout out to the health care workers who have been working tirelessly and my issue isn’t with them, it’s our health care system that is broken. If you think you’ll be seen sooner In a smaller hospital think again, it’s bad everywhere.

By far the best hospital around. Born and raised in Almonte and currently reside here - never have I ever had a bad experience. Some of the best doctors and nurses out there and we are lucky to have them! Also, a 5 Plus Star Maternity Ward. The best nurses on the planet work here. Both of my children were born in this hospital and my experiences were made 100% better because of the staff.

There are Angels in the recovery room One of them named Sarah. She is an amazing soul. She makes sure your comfortable all the time, she is caring funny. It's great place to be looked after.
