State Line Diner has been family owned and operated for over 35 years. Since opening its doors in 1976, we have expanded and renovated our dining area multiple times. We look forward to serving you soon!

Story

Located in Mahwah, New Jersey, the reason behind our continued success is our usage of high quality ingredients in our vast menu. In our family friendly atmosphere, we only use certified Angus beef and fresh fish. Our entrees are fresh and delicious and you can enjoy a meal with us at any time of the day seven days a week!

Some of our customers’ favorite dishes are our burgers, skirt steaks and baked goods including our cheesecake and rainbow cake. Continued updates and additions to our already vast and appealing menu selection ensures a dining experience that is second to none!

Jersey dinners almost always for the bill when you need ANY food style, and State Line is a classic. The atmosphere and interior is comfortable and clean. Service by our server Ari was PERFECT: efficient, helpful, welcoming, and hilarious personality... Just as it should be. The older woman who seated is was grouchy and didn't give any eye contact, but there's a blizzard outside, and surely she just wanted to be safe at home. Terrific BLT& Avocado, fantastic bagels, and all around solid breakfast. Espresso drinks are pricey compared to the menu, but what the heck... It's a diner. You're supposed to order cheap diner coffee. We'll be back again.

My friend and I stopped here on the drive home from a weekend skiing because it was close to 87 and 95. The diner's menu is roughly 15 pages, meaning they specialize in everything! We expected our buffalo chicken wrap and Greek salad to take 20 min to prepare - the food was out within 5 minutes of placing the order! Food was great and we were back on the road in no time.

I've been going to Stateline since I was little, but everything has gone so downhill there that I just can't enjoy it anymore. It's always overcrowded. There menu is too big for them to execute successfully. In fact, I've gotten food poisoning for not ordering something I regularly order. The wait staff is okay if you can understand what they're saying, but I get the feeling they want to hurry you through your meal. Even their normal food, like burgers, are just barely average. Would not recommend.

The parking lot was full when we pulled up, but we're lucky to find parking. I thought we were in for a long wait, but was wrong. We were seated immediately and received fast good service. We were back on the road in no time. Food was good, exactly what you expect from a Diner.

I was seated quickly and my order was taken right away. I was in town for work and only had 20 minutes. My order was served within a few minutes and I was out the door in time. I had eggs, with sausage and pancakes. Everything was delicious. The iced coffee was great as well. Would go back if I'm ever in town again.
