What a great restaurant! The service is impeccable and Ken was attentive and his memory impressive. We have a party of 12 and they did not miss a beat from appetizers to dessert. The food is delectable and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The bread is warm and the crust is delicious and we kept asking for more.
Located off of Kinderkamack Road in Montvale, this establishment combines a casual atmosphere with magnificent Italian cooking. Bellissimo has a big following, so it’s recommended to reserve if you can by calling their phone number, which we did for dinner tonight. It’s always jammed with patrons at the host area, which is always a good sign. Upon entering, my partner, our friends and I were greeted by the staff and the owner, Tony, and were seated promptly. He even remembered where we sat two years ago. That’s a great sign, showing that he cares about his customers. The menu is extensive, with soups, appetizers, salad, pasta-fish and meat, as well as daily specials that are usually creative and unique. For starters, some of us opted for tonight’s special pear salad. For our main meal, we ordered a couple of tonight’s specials, one consisting of stuffed veal and the other being snapper, veal piccata, veal with funghi mushrooms, and chicken fingers with fries. All meals came with a house salad with balsamic vinegar. Complimentary bread started our meal. Some of us saved some room for dessert and ordered the tiramisu and crème brûlée cheesecake. Food is carefully prepared and detailed so that it remains consistently delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful, as we were a party of six, and they did not miss a beat from appetizers to dessert. They truly want you to enjoy your experience. Bring your choice of wines and sit back, as this is BYOB. The place has been in the top 10 of ours, so if one wants to be impressed with food and service, this is the place that we continue to recommend.
This restaurant is one of our family's favorites because of the excellent variety of specials they offer. They also have an extensive regular Italian food menu. The service is consistently great, and we always enjoy the delicious food. It is BYOD and they serve complementary salad. This place is great for parties, and they don't take reservations for less than 5 people, but it is a big place, and based on my experience, it never a long wait.
In town for work and coming from Seattle wanted to get some good Italian food. Locals weren’t much help as they said every Italian place is good. After looking over the options decided to try Bellissimo as I have been craving lobster ravioli for a good while now. Did not disappoint, the service was exceptional and was promptly taken care of. Had the special appetizer crab stuffed mushrooms which were perfectly seasoned and cooked, none of the flavors overwhelmed each other and were perfectly balanced. The lobster ravioli was everything I wanted other than more ravioli. The raviolis were cooked perfectly, and the cream sauce was so good it made me want to lick the plate clean. Finished off with a cappuccino, was an excellent dinner.
I really tried to like this restaurant and don’t feel good giving it 1 star. Unfortunately, the quality of a majority of the food we ordered was sub par. I love Italian food and was truly hoping for more based on the high yelp reviews and how busy the restaurant was. I can say my favorite items were the shrimp cocktail, lobster ravioli and toasted almond cake. Our table ordered numerous items from the menu since we were a huge party so we each picked around trying different apps and entrees. I wish I could provide a better review but unfortunately the flavor was either missing or off.
