Yesterday I saw something I honestly wouldn’t have believed if I hadn’t witnessed it myself. A gentleman with two young kids was waiting in the shoe section for help. The staff member I think his name was Christian completely ignored him and went on to help people who showed up after him. When the gentleman politely asked why, Christian suddenly got defensive, accused him of being aggressive—which he absolutely wasn’t—and told him to leave the store.nnThen the manager came over and somehow made things worse. Instead of de-escalating, she backed up her staff and also asked the man to leave. Watching how calm and respectful that gentleman was, it really felt like they all ganged up on him for no reason. Honestly, it came across as borderline racist.nnThe whole thing left a really bad taste. The lack of professionalism and empathy was shocking. I’ll never shop at that location again.
We have been to several stores around the city and no one in any of the shoe departments has been as wonderful as Matteo at this location. He was patient, quick, and cleaned up the area when he didn’t have people to tend to. True positive customer service rarely seen in stores today. We had a lot of workers over the last couple of weeks stand around, turn away, chat amongst staff…so it was a pleasant surprise to have such great attention and care given by this young man to everyone in the area. He deserves a raise. Thank you, Matteo.
The staff here were very rude and completely unorganized. They all seemed busy doing everything except helping customers—especially in the shoe section. The guy working there should really be more approachable and actually care about customer service.nnMeanwhile, the staff at the front desk were laughing and gossiping, and even the manager was just fixing racks instead of paying attention to what was happening around them. The whole experience felt off.nnI guess real customer service is a thing of the past at Sport Chek.
Nice store, very clean and great, friendly front end staff upon entry. Give yourself time if you go here as it’s really hard to get get any help most times, espeacially in shoe area. No one really comes to help or provide any customer service unless you confront them, then It almost seems like you’re cutting into their time.
Went into sherwood park sport check. Needed some new running shoes. 2 employees looked at me three times. Did not acknowledge me. Then proceeded to go get something from the back. Also 3 employees at the counter, no customers, just talking. Definitely no customer service there. Worst store I've ever been to.
