The nurses are very kind in triage and inside while waiting for a room. Having a fever, she made me comfortable and gave me a blanket even without my asking when a room was available. Dr. Cefcik did a thorough check up and listened to all my concerns and ordered meds for me to take for the pain while in his care and prescribed medication for me at home. I am so grateful for the staff working in Urgent Care. Have been in and out for approximately 3 hours. Thank you for the work you do.

Visited this health centre emergency, ridiculous wait as mentioned in other reviews. Once we were seen by nurses/doctors we were given intstructions to wait for a call the next morning from mayfair diagnostics across the road....across the road.....and return to SCHC after the appointment.nnWe went for the appointment and were informed that once the U/S was complete, two hours later we are to attend SCHC again to review the results with a doctor in emerge....so we follow these instructions. Waited over 5 hours. No one could give a simple run down of the results or simply forward to our family doctor and send us home. Absolutely ridiculous and waste of our time.

We had to bring Marty in for treatment on his hand, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about the care we received. The absolute standout of the whole experience was Jeremy — seriously the best nurse ever. He was calm, kind, funny, professional, and made a stressful situation so much easier for both of us.nJeremy treated Marty with genuine care and respect the entire time, explained everything clearly, and made sure he was comfortable. You can tell he truly cares about his patients and takes pride in what he does. Nurses like him make a huge difference when people are scared or hurting.nThe rest of the staff were great too, but Jeremy deserves special recognition. South Calgary Health Centre is lucky to have him. Thank you again for taking such good care of Marty!

On September 29, I received a call from Postpartum Community Services. I was told that both I and my newborn baby need to be examined. We were waiting for this appointment very anxiously, because my baby has not had a normal bowel movement for one and a half days, her skin has turned yellow, and she is crying constantly because of discomfort. We are extremely worried about her condition.nnI asked for a home visit, because my husband is at work and cannot drive me, and after giving birth it is very painful for me to sit, so I simply cannot travel. However, we were refused a home visit and told that the only options are to come in person to the clinic or to have an online consultation. I am sorry, but I do not understand how it is possible to properly examine a newborn baby online, or how my uterus can be checked online.nnMy husband and I insisted and asked them to come to our home, but we were told that we should take a taxi to the clinic. This is absolutely unacceptable. They are suggesting that I put my two-day-old baby into a taxi that is used by hundreds of people every day. I will not risk my child’s health in such a way.nnWe are very upset and cannot understand why we are being treated this way. We are extremely dissatisfied and demand that this decision be reconsidered.

I took my child in with multiple symptoms first thing Sunday morning severe migraine, light sensitivity, extremely sore neck, visible swollen glands, very lethargic, and not being able to swallow because her throat was so sore. She received a cursory exam and prescribed a topical neck cream for pain little stronger than voltarin we were told. No testing offered and sent away saying if it gets worse come back. It was already at its worst but she made it through the night and we went to Hospital ER the next day where she did receive a full exam and testing. Test results are back now, we know what we are dealing with and my child is recovering with treatment and medication. I will definitely avoid South Calgary Health Centre urgent care in the future if at all possible.
