I came here with some friends to try oysters for the first time. Our waitress was incredibly helpful in guiding us on what to try first and how to enjoy it. We ended up trying a selection raw oysters, two kinds of broiled oysters, and the pan-fried oysters. The pan-fried were the easiest to eat as it was essentially a fish and chips type deal. Very tasty, and the tartar sauce was very good. The broiled oysters were okay; it seemed that it depended on whether the oyster was "fishy" tasting or not to decide if it was good or not. Overall though it was a cool way to have an oyster. The raw oysters were definitely interesting as a newbie. We got an assortment of sauces, toppings and and mignonette to try. I found the mignonette too vinegar-y to enjoy, but the pepper sauces they have were nice. Our waitress started us with smaller oysters which ended up being our preference as they were a bit easier to it. Aside from the food, they also have a good selection of wines and beers to try. Overall it was a fun meal, and we enjoyed trying everything. Again, our waitress was a big part of making the meal enjoyable, as she was incredibly helpful to us.
DELICIOUS. Oysters shucked right in from of you, come on!! We came for happy hour and I just kept ordering more and more raw oysters because they were just so good. A great selection of sauces were served on the side and our server was able to explain each one to us in detail. I left so happy and satisfied with the meal.
A must for oyster and banging meals! If you are like me who is a patron or was of the Gibson's location, you will be very happy to now be able to have the same delicacy in Vancouver! Always fresh quality seafood and the dopest sauce. Great ambiance and the patio is perfect. Our server was fantastic, great vibe and very nice and cordial. For locals this is the former Five Point location. N.B. Unlike the coast location, you CAN sit yourself
Craving for oysters ? They have got you covered here with one of the best oysters Vancouver has to offer! Here are 3 reasons why to check them out!⁣ ⁣ 1 They have a great selection of oysters! They have oysters from Washington to P.E.I and much more. Each day they have different fresh oysters that come in. Each oysters have such a different flavour profile from salty to sweet and they vary in sizes too!⁣ ⁣ 2 I love their food menu selection! They have such a big menu selection of food from seared scallops, to chilli lime prawns, halibut fritters and much much more! I love how their scallops are perfectly cooked and their halibut fritters satisfies your craving for fish and chips! There is just a bit of everything for everyone! Also must get their Creme Bruce Lee to end the night!⁣ ⁣ 3 Amazing atmosphere and service! Their servers are super knowledgeable and super friendly. It was fantastic that they walked me through each of their 6 different oysters and they checked up on me every so often! They are a perfect place to unwind for the night!⁣
We had an amazing experience, the oyster shucker came to our table and gave us all the info about the selection! The food was fantastic and fresh and I absolutely loved the baked oyster options as well! A fun place with a great atmosphere and delicious good. Definitely check it out! Need to go back for the Paella
My only regret is that Smitty's didn't show up sooner on main St! I loved their happy hour! There's a need for oysters and seafood outside of the downtown core and these folks delivered! Sable fish in particular was fab! Best deal of the night: happy hour mussels!Food: 5/5
Tried their afternoon happy hour menu. Oyster sliders added a 4th slider to my plate was really nicely put together sandwich. Recommend their chowder. No one else makes a chowder in town with such fine diced ingredients. Just right with a creamy and seafoody broth. A nicely made and filling chowder. I think it's made in the original location in Gibson's Must try the mussels. They are perfectly cooked, salt Spring mussels when we were there. and great price at happy hour!!! With prices going up, there's fewer options for happy hour shucked oysters. So we added regular menu to our plate. All 3 types were great quality and delish.
An awesome addition to Main St. Five Point will be missed but I need a close Oyster fix and this is the place for it! Look forward to visiting here regularly. We sat at the bar after a long day at work and enjoyed the vibes.
Very popular oyster spot. Was very busy this weekend. The workers were running around. Tried just a few oysters and they are as good as it gets. Was told their burger was very good. Tried that out and loved it. Had some room for desert and got the chocolate mousse. Will be back for more seafood for sure!Food: 5/5
Our new favorite place, the attention and super good and friendly. The atmosphere with the guys who work there is fun, I assure you that you will have a super nice time, the food is delicious, not to mention the oysters, they explain everything about them in detail, if you want to enjoy some delicious drinks and good beer it is the right place .You must try the chili lime prawns ,so delicious!!!
