Shinta Japanese BBQ

After a lot of hype I finally decided to try this place. A lot of Shinta fans love this place and told me I must try it. Right off the bat- the place is very nice and inviting, soothing cool and relaxing atmosphere. We had a table of 6 people with 2 grills at the table. The table is stocked with spices and utensils. We ordered the beef, pork, shrimp,pork, mushrooms, onions, peppers. It almost seems like the grills aren’t as hot as they should be so you don’t cook as much food over your time slot. Food was good but not great. The service was actually pretty slow and our server was quite rude. We actually did get kicked out because our time was done. Not worth the hype. I would try somewhere else instead of coming back.

The meat quality was pretty good. But that's where the positives end. The service staff was rude. Dining time is 2 hours, and last order was supposed to be 30 minutes before it ends. Our server cut us off 40 minutes before our dining time ended. The grill was pretty low power so the meat cooked slowly and wouldn't sear. It's all you can eat, but you can only have 1 ice cream. For the prices they charge, this is not good enough.

It was a truly a surprise that I found out this place on Google Map. Came here for dinner and I must say that from the service to the quality and quantity of food is just incredible amazing. The staffs really look after us and keep checking if we anything. The meat are very fresh and you can really taste the difference compared to other BBQ places in Toronto. The only downside about this place is that if I keep coming here I will definitely be overweight soon LOL

It’s my 3rd time visiting this place since they opened a few year ago. We opt for the $41 AYCE dinner menu. Meat quality is pretty good! The meat is fresh and the ones that are marinated are not overly salty or sweet. However, seafood quality is poor. Low quality clams that are not fresh and super small. They use very sweet broth to cover the frozen taste of the clams. Not full house on Mon night but service is still a bit slow. Waited 10-15 mins for hot sake. Missed one of our food order as well. Service is very typical Chinese style. The servers are efficient but lack customer skills. Dessert include soft served vanilla ice cream unlimited and ice cream bar limited to 1 per person. Not rushed to leave since it’s not a busy night. But did inform us of last call at around 9:30 we were seated at 8pm.

Went for a birthday. Irene seated us and came around to check we were good the entire dinner. Karen was our server and was very attentive and has such good memory. We would forget what we liked but she would remember for us. They had fresh watermelon juice. My favorite was the intestines.Food: 5/5

Amazing customer service. Front desk receptionist was super accommodating. We went there with no reservation and the front desk found us a spot at the closest available time. We had to wait around 10 minutes, but that wasn't an issue. When we ordered our food, the servers were really fast and efficient with it. Despite the place being jam packed that night. The staff were very polite. I love the ambience of the place and the temperature inside is just the right amount. The cleanliness of the establishment was also superb. Our table was neat and clean. 10/10 would recommend to friends and family.

Not only is the food delicious, the service there is AMAZING!! I came today for Valentines Day and was gifted a rose. Such a sweet gesture! Honestly, all the staff there is so nice and friendly. I also dropped my ring today and was so scared that it would be swept away as they have to clean up at the end of the day. I went back just as they were about to close and they had already found my ring and had it at the counter. The care and attention to detail is exceptional. 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely be coming back :

Went at opening for lunch, ordered everything on the beef and pork menu. Nice thin slices and decent marbling. My personal favourite was the black pepper short rib strips. The marinade was savory, fragrant, and sweet; and the peppercorn dissolves in your mouth when you bite into it. Staff were very friendly and attentive which helped contribute to the pleasant atmosphere. While food is good I would say it's overhyped. A safe choice for decent Japanese BBQ.

All you can eat meat lovers BBQ. Good quality beef slices, pork belly, seafood. Vegi dishes are also good. Only one kind of lamb though. Service is friendly and easy to order, metal net on the stove changed quite frequently. The reception at the front desk could be more welcome though. Seems like reserve only, some walk-in were turned back.

Came here a few times, and always had good experiences with either booking reservations or walking in. There are tons of options for their beef, pork, poultry, veggies, sides, etc. I’ve always noticed that food and plating is always quick on coming out and away when first orders are placed. Then slows down noticeably afterwards. Our server was super nice/polite. We had a table of 9. The restaurant is clean and well lit. For the black Shinta is definitely worth compared to other grill houses. I would come back to try their higher menu items.
