My partner and I had a great dinner experience at Miyabi Japanese Restaurant. The restaurant is run by Chef Arasaki, who was working behind the sushi bar. The waitresses at front of the house were excellent, providing a warm welcome and ensured all guests were well taken care of. Each piece of sushi and hand roll was made to order and was very fresh. As there was only one person making the sushi, the food may take a bit longer, but this ensures the freshness and quality of each dish. This is not a restaurant for a quick bite but rather an enjoyable dinner out. We certainly enjoyed our experience here and would recommend those looking for a delicious sushi night to come to Miyabi.
Food was excellent. Price fair. Way too slow, talking 40 minutes for 2 people. It has 1 server and 1 chef. So table service is rare anytime there is more than 2 tables being used. I would return to this restaurant again but only if I ordered ahead. The food was very good after all.
We were looking for a quick bite to eat at a restaurant in Richmond Hill and found Miyabi on maps. It was 6pm on a Tuesday, and there was only one or two other small tables when we walked in. Everything is a little pricey, typical for an a la carte Japanese restaurant, so don't expect to spend any less than $20-30 a person. We got a karaage appetizer to share. I got the nabeyaki udon, which came with tempura and my partner got the yakiniku dinner. The food took a really long time to come out and the portion sizes were just okay. The karaage really wasn't worth it though. It was 4 small pieces of chicken for $11 : They also didn't have any mayo so it was a little dry and flavourless. The udon itself was good - especially the broth - but coming with only one shrimp tempura and a bunch of vegetables couldn't really justify the cost of $18. The yakiniku was just ok. The waitress was really nice though and I'm sure if we had gotten sushi or other fish dishes, our experience would have been a lot better. I'll opt for other options!
Authentic decor. Not your cookie cutter bento box, which is nice. Some sushi fell apart upon pick up. Should come more specialized items like bluefin toro and lobster sashimi.
Haven't been here in many years! Very nostalgic, food and service are still very good! Just as I remember it. Very reasonable prices in this inflationary world. Will continue to come back for sure.Food: 5/5
This is my favourite Japanese restaurant in the GTA. The atmosphere is simple, but the food is delicious and authentic. I see that some reviewers complain about the slow service. This is a place to savour your food, not to get a quick bite.
Ordered Miyabi Deluxe for 2 for lunch. Fresh fish. Ok variety. Would go again to try their dinner. Excellent wait staff.
Friendly loving Japanese local style restaurant. If you understand Japanese culture, you would appreciate this place. This place still have the good old Japanese hospitality vibes. Or thought the food isn’t outrageously outstanding, but you get what u paid for. Dishes maintain traditional Japanese cuteness, delicate yet precise.Recommended dishesSashimi Lunch Box, Sushi Platter, Sushi Deluxe
Ordered a sushi boat and the portion size is A LOT smaller compared to sushi boats at other restaurants. There were only about 20-25 pieces of sushi and sashimi and costed over $100. Not filling enough for 4 people. The waitress was very nice though.
I read online that this is an authentic place with a talented chef at the helm. While this may very well be true, the takeout I got to experience today disappointed me. Too much rice which did not taste all that good, not enough filling, and mediocre overall taste left me unimpressed. In my humble opinion, nothing beats Ichiban Fish House 9425 Leslie St - my favourite sushi joint in Markham.
