This quaint little breakfast place is the cutest! I loved the decor and the old-timey atmosphere! The food was massive portions for the price, and everything was dont so well, you can taste the love they used to cook your food! The service was friendly and personable. Everyone looked happy to be there! Their mimosa was really good as a side point, they used pulpy orange juice for mine and I was overjoyed!! I really hope you think about eating here next time you're in the neighborhood, some of the best food I've had across Canada! Vegetarian options: Vegan options as well Kid-friendliness: Kids would love the good food here!
amazing servers and lovely atmosphere - got a chai latte which was delicious and the southern belle eggs benedict with scottish potato scone. I wasn't the biggest fan of the eggs benedict but it was just not the flavour combo for me! would have loved another type for sureFood: 4/5
Best Benedict eggs I have ever had. They have different hollandaise sauce which makes them more interesting to try. I ordered the clubhouse and I loved it. The boy serves very well but the girl needs to be more friendly. I give them 5 stars because the flavour is extremely good.
Shine Cafe is one of the best brunch spots in the city. We were greeted quickly and informed of an accurate wait-time. Our server Mia was very friendly and informative! We took her recommendations on drinks and food, we were not disappointed! The food came quick and was quite tasty. Overall, an excellent spot and well-priced! Vegetarian options: Lots of flavourful and creative vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: Accommodating servers and a spaced-out, simple floor plan.
We chanced upon this little gem while in the area and can definitely recommend it; for breakfast, for lunch, even just for coffee. Good coffee, menu selection, service, great vibe! I had the Santa Fee Salad for lunch, very good. They must have a great reputation, it was full when we walked in, the server at the till said “it’s always like this.” But they say is in just a few minutes.
Food was great, 5 stars for the food. 2 for the service. Longtime shine customer at both locations, came to downtown location monday and had a pretty bad experience. Wait time to even order food was substantial lots of staff, very few customers present after we finished no bill came. Finally went to the counter to ask for my bill, lady wearing mask with dark hair rudely questioned the amount that i was tipping. Turns out shes done this to my friends as well on separate occasions. Hope things change moving forward with how paying customers are treated.
Great food and fond memories of waiting outside on weekends rain or shine if not cold! with coffee for a table. I wish there was a Shine in Edmonton hahaha:. Always fantastic and great lemonade too.
Yum.. the benedicts were delicious! We did a Canadian benedict with avacado instead of the bacon and garden city benedict . The staff was friendly and always asked about the water and coffee. We ordered medium poached but it came out super running but other than that it was great.

Shine is classic in all the right ways. It's been, and remains a staple breakfast joint in Victoria. I'm all about there Eggs Benedict's, but have ventured away every now and then and always enjoyed what I've had. Where I feel they are upper echelon for food, their coffee lives well in the middle. There is great coffee out there, we don't need to continually push the same old profile with breakfast. Coffee is such an important part of the morning, it would be nice to see it elevated the way food has. The coffee doesn't stop me from going or even ordering the coffee and I still love every visit. Oh! The staff are super awesome too!
