A mostly good experience except they were sold out of a number of things. We found something we wanted only to be told it was also out and they were not sure how to do refunds. They eventually got it and our beverages were all good. Baked goods next time. I just added this and changed my rating from 4 stars. The server accosted a very elderly man with mobility issues. He was seated at a table and had a mask on but lifted it so that she could hear him. His breathing was laboured. She kept telling him to put his mask on. It’s hard to see an old guy made to struggle so much.
Does 14 minutes is a lot of time? Yes if it is morning and you are on your way to work. At the past month I was making a stop every morning before work to get my coffee. Their coffee is ok. A bit acidic, not the best in Victoria try Discovery coffee, and Hey Happy, but in five minutes I was in my way out. Today, it took them what seems forever in the morning rush. When I asked why it is taken too long, they offered me to download their phone application to get a better a faster service. Well, call me old fashion, but I believe that the person that took the order from me, should had tell me that their is a long queue of orders before my order. Especially when a lot of the orders are online. I could have manage my time better, and not be late to my work.
Grabbed a latte and breakfast sandwich to go. Quick service. Latte was great, they served it on my own mug. Breakfast sandwich was so good! Got bacon added, it was crispy and right on point.
Killer espressos, and beautiful welcoming atmosphere, upbeat music to complement the intriguing art on the walls. A star was taken off for the disrespectful judgy server, my girlfriend and I were made unwelcome to this beautiful cafe, after sitting in for about 2 hours. We kept buying coffees and pastries which were delish, and made sure to sit in as long as we needed enjoying everything but the service! We still paid tips though cus life is too short to hate. Hey Caffe Fantastico...... all paying customers should be treated with respect!
This cafe is highly recommended, and boasts to be "for the coffee snobs". I beg to differ, I went twice while visiting Victoria, the first time I ordered an iced americano, it was poured incorrectly. I gave it a pass and though maybe it was a new barista. I went a second time, and the same thing happened. Incorrectly poured iced americano. After paying 6 dollars for 2 shots of espresso, bring my own cup, and have it ruined by tap water. I will NEVER go again, nor will I ever recommend this place. The answer I received was "this is how we were trained."
First time visit. Just had a coffee but the food looked ok. Gave it 4 stars for lack of cream, sweetener for my coffee readily available. Got a little cream from a container by the counter,but it was almost empty and I didnt see it refilled. Only sugar at the station. C'mon..in this day and age? So I asked for sweetener and guh. Stevia. Better than nothing, not by much. Otherwise,nice roomy place, service was quick with a smile.
Caffe Fantastico didn’t really live up to the hype. My friend and I specifically chose this location so that we could study and enjoy coffee. When I was called up to order by one barista another staff came and began talking to them, interrupting me, and I had to repeat my order. The same staff, when bring the food to our table, was quite rude when we asked if there was something wrong with the wifi as we couldn’t get it to work. She told us the wifi was fine and it was essentially our fault, and that it was less of a caffe and more of a restaurant. We moved closer to where we were told the router was and were able to get a signal. Overall not impressed, we were paying customers and were not treated well at all by the staff. *Edit* Given the owners response I would say if you need to study go somewhere else. We were not freeloading at this establishment, we collectively bought 3 drinks and 2 food items between the two of us but were still made to feel unwelcome.
Well presented food, that tasted great! Nice staff and cute decor. Only thing is the prices are a bit high for small portions. Don’t recommend their italian soda, but out of what we tried I really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich.
With some of the best coffee in town Caffe Fantastico is an easy choice as a long weekend destination. They now have a brunch menu and a well equipped kitchen turning out beautiful food. My curry chicken sandwich was very flavourful and was paired with an even better salad. Their service seems to have improved and I'm happy to say that my cappuccino did not veer into latte territory.
I have lived in Victoria for a long time, and I love coffee so I check out all the places. I should also mention that I'm a professional artist and my work is shown at this Cafe, so I might seemed biased, but the reason I show my work there is BECAUSE they are an amazing business with an amazing culture of people, so I proudly display my art on their walls. Furthermore, the staff are friendly and very much loved by the customers, the Company is so supportive of the community in many, many ways art, poetry, music, fundraising and more, and each individual cafe location fosters a place for connection in that neighbourhood. On top of all of that - they have AMAZING coffee and delicious food. They are super nerdy about how they roast and prepare coffee and they have wonderful seasonal menus that are always adored by the many foodies in our city. Victoria loves Café Fantastico and so will you!
