I’ve been holding off on posting a review because I really dislike leaving bad reviews. My partner and I went to Saveur during Taste of Victoria. We are both adventurous eaters, and we like a wide variety of tastes. Our dinner was probably one of my least favourite meals that I’ve ever had - it was genuinely not good in addition to being very expensive, but we knew that in advance. For Taste of Victoria, there was a set menu so I ordered one appetizer and entree, and my partner ordered the other choices. We did not enjoy any dish. The highlight of our meal was the pickled radish that was on the side of Skate dish, which speaks to the quality of the rest of the food. The service was fine. We were really excited to try here after seeing the amazing reviews but it was a very disappointing experience.
Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. It’s the sort of meals that brings you to wonder… how did they manage to turn mundane ingredients, you find in any fridge, into something so delicious!? The setting is clean and nicely decorated, the seatings were well sectioned for covid as well. I think they did try their best to serve but they were a little bit understaffed. Would love to try more dishes next time in Victoria!
Worth the splurge!!! Yes it's expensive. And yes it was amazing! Good things are worth spending money on and if you've never had a fine dining meal, this should be on your local list to try! Service was attentive and on point. The meals were paired wonderfully with reds and whites appropriately. We started off with a super fun creative chai inspired whiskey sour! If James has it available, order it!!! When they say their tenderloin is like butter, it's true. And yes, you should pair wine with your dessert! It's a small venue, with small tables but the service keeps on top of your table helping to avoid clutter. Thanks Chef, James, and Ryan for the great time!
Nice french restaurant with an Asian twist. The food is all very pretty and the service is great prob cuz they add an 18% service charge regardless of the no. of people in your group. The food is on the pricier end but it's is pretty good. I especially liked the pork belly.
It was a wonderful experience and helpful as I'm gluten free. They even cleaned the fryer so I could have chicken. The food is to die for . The staff was friendly and it was reasonably priced. 100% recommended but book a table in advance.
Early seating for dinner which means the restaurant was not crowded. Mike was a great server. Mussels. Are. A. Must. Try. We ordered it 2x. Cocktails are forgettable. Maybe the wines might be better. Focacia bread that was complimentary tasted off - like it was missing salt and we found it hard to eat. Maybe it was meant to taste like that?!? Crab panna cotta with corn. Salad was great. Mushroom cracklings was great. Skipped dessert. Came here with high expectations but maybe that’s why I was a bit disappointed. Overall, the food was amazing and the best part of the experience coming here. Kudos to the chefs.
Had the most amazing evening! The chef created amazing vegan dishes for me shoutout to Rob and the service was phenomenal shoutout to Avi. Would highly recommend coming here for a fine dining experience
We loved the atmosphere and food. The wings were delish. Tacos were good, but the good old burger was the best. Awesome potato - worth adding as a side. We also had merengue for dessert, definitely with a twist but good. Wish there was more merengue.
Had birthday dinner here yesterday. The food was amazing! The crispy pork belly was so tasty with that a bit crunch outside and so juicy inside! The squash and Quinn sauce was so good with the meat too. The duck was surprisingly soft with also crispy skin. It really had the duck taste in it which I loved so much! Personally I loved the duck slightly better than the pork belly, but my friend liked the pork more. Had the dark chocolate dessert at the end with chestnut, foie gras ice cream and chocolate nibs flakes. Nice combination too! The staff there was so nice! Had a really nice dinner! Definitely recommend to try here! Great French restaurant in Victoria
Absolutely love this place. Tried nearly every dish on the menu and enjoyed all of them. Food is not cheap and a little floofy small portions but that is expected at this type of place and food. I tried the scallop and beef entrees, both were fantastic. Our server was one of the best I've ever had as well, very nice guy and oddly decisive in helping us choose meals which was great The beet salad with the airated goat cheese was quite something. The chocolate cake has a beet white chocolate ganache poured in the middle and was great
