We are two adults and three children all under the age of 13 who are supposed to stay in a room with two queen beds with no option for a cot. After several calls since November to make a change to my reservation and being told that it has been updated, I have been able to speak with the manager, who has heard my frustration and concerns. After numerous calls this morning, I have been able to upgrade my room to ensure that we are sleeping in a bed!nnThank you for listening and providing GOOD customer service in very stressful and frustrating times.nnStay tuned for the review after our stay but as of right now we went from never staying at a Sandman hotel to having an open mind and not ruling it out if all staff members can provide the same level of service.
Best sleep I’ve had in my life. The bed was so comfy and the room was a great quality for the price. I booked a standard king room directly through their website not a third party site but was given what seemed to be a suite as the bedroom was in a separate room and there was a full kitchen. Highly recommend staying here!
My stay at Sandman Hotel in Ottawa was undoubtedly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever encountered. It all began with a significant discrepancy in pricing and was compounded by extremely rude and unprofessional behavior from the night cashier receptionist.nnBefore heading to the hotel, I called to inquire about room rates. Over the phone, I was quoted a rate of $195, and since I was only 15 minutes away, I decided to drive over and pay in person. However, upon arriving, the receptionist abruptly informed me that the rate was $234 plus taxes. Stunned by the sudden increase, I called the hotel’s number again. Over the phone, they confirmed they could offer me $194 plus taxes. After booking through the phone, I returned to the same receptionist, who read my reservation details but insisted I could not check in at that price. He claimed I needed to be a member and that the rate was only valid for those who called three days in advance.nnAt this point, feeling extremely frustrated but still trying to remain calm, I told the receptionist I’d call back to resolve the issue. As soon as I began dialing, he abruptly changed his mind, muttering something about “checking what he could do.” Finally, he relented and allowed me to check in at the agreed price, which felt like a small victory after all the hassle.nnBut the nightmare wasn’t over. He assigned me to room 125, where I was greeted by a broken window, making the room feel unsafe and exposed. To make matters worse, a loud, persistent noise from the air conditioning unit made it impossible to get any rest. Exhausted and desperate, I returned to the reception around midnight to request a room change. Fortunately, the rude receptionist was not there, and a much more helpful and courteous lady assisted me. She moved me to room 620, which was better, but the damage to my experience had already been done.nnOverall, this ordeal left me feeling unwelcome and mistreated. The lack of professionalism, broken amenities, and complete disregard for customer satisfaction make it hard for me to recommend this hotel. For anyone considering a stay at Sandman Hotel in Ottawa, I would advise you to think twice.
I came here to stay for a group conference with a number of colleagues. We had a very comfortable stay. Samir was exceptional in his customer service. Samir always went above and beyond to address our needs and ensured we had an exceptional experience during our stay. Thank you !
Fari and Sophia are great. Very polite, friendly, and helpful.nnI still think that the majority of the people at the reception are very good.nnHowever, the overall cleanliness of the hotel is horrible, mainly my bedroom and bathroom. I stayed in the hotel for 10 days. Despite me putting those cleaning signs, they never cleaned my bedroom. The grease on the shower wall is visible. Hair everywhere including hair from previous guests.nnAlso, the male staff could take better care of their personal hygiene. Wherever places they walked, they left a terrible armpit smell.
