The hosts are warm, welcoming, and friendly. They also had excellent recommendations for activities in the area. The house is charming, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The breakfast is exquisitely presented in the cozy dining room, and the food is exceptional. Absolutely delicious and filling. There is special detail in everything at the River Edge Mansion; it’s a truly wonderful experience. Their adorable and friendly golden retriever is a fun added bonus!
This is the second time my husband & I have stayed here & we will certainly be back the next time we want to go to Syracuse, which I hope is soon so I can stay here again! The house is beautiful, the hosts are lovely & amiable people who bent over backwards to make sure we were comfy. The breakfast was phenomenal. I was particularly fond of a communal living room with a huge TV & the most comfortable couch I've ever laid on in my life. And, to boot, we got to make friends with a beautiful golden retriever named Riley, who was a very good boy our entire stay. Cannot recommend highly enough. Beautiful place.
We had a wonderful dinner at the Inn! Not only are the owners extremely respectful of keeping the property immaculate and true to how it originated but they were also extremely accommodating, educational on the history of the property, and we had one of the best dinners and desserts we have ever had. The building is beautiful and so many antiques to see while your here. We will absolutely return and can’t wait to see the Inn in the daylight! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
Our stay was AMAZING!! The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, and the food was excellent!! We really enjoyed our interactions with the hosts, John and Rebecca, and they shared a lot of interesting historical information about the property. The house itself was gorgeous! The room was very clean and cozy!! We will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend! Thanks again for the wonderful experience John, Rebecca and Riley!!
What a wonderful little gem on the Erie canal. The host are personable and friendly but not intrusive. The house mascot Riley the Golden Retriver was an added bonus. Worth the visit and experience! Food & drinks: Food was tasty and beautifully served. Coffee outside your door every morning was magnificent!
I found River Edge Mansion online when planning a birthday trip for my husband. We were on an Erie Canal exploration weekend. River Edge turned out to be a highlight of the trip! The Seneca room was gorgeous and spotlessly clean. Antiques throughout the mansion were amazing. Our hostess, Anne, was warm and welcoming. The breakfast she served was indeed gourmet! This place was fabulous. We will definitely return!!
My new husband and I spent our wedding night there Saturday, May 21st. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. We were treated to Asti and some delicious chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our special day. We stayed in the Oneida room which was the perfect place to relax at the end of a long but wonderful day. In the morning we enjoyed fresh coffee and orange juice out on the balcony. Becca provided us with a delicious breakfast and she even shared her secret of how she prepares her special potato and bacon rose dish. And we can’t forget Riley who was a special addition to our stay. Thank you for everything - we can’t wait to visit again for our first anniversary!
What a wonderful stay in a beautiful historic mansion. My wife and i stayed here on our way to Dark Island and couldn't have been happier. The innkeepers are very nice and attentive and the accommodations where excellent. WE stayed in the Oneida Room and were very pleased with the room. Its spacious, and the tub is excellent for just unwinding in. The inn is very historic and the innkeepers can give you a nice detailed history of the inn. Highly recommended especially as its a great jumping off point for visiting Singer castle or Bolt Castle a hour and 15 minutes away. The inn is well located and near a nice selection of eateries and a Wegman's which are all easy to get to.
I found the historic River Edge Mansion thru a friend. It was my first experience in a bed and breakfast and exceeded my expectations! From the beautiful decorated house, over the nice location by the Erie canal and the owner's knowledge of the history of the Mansion. Thank you Becca and John! awesome hospitality
