You can't beat staying in the park. This is the closest campground to Logan Pass which helped us get there early in the morning before it got busy and the parking lot turned into a madhouse. We saw plenty of wildlife, even a bear. That means you have to keep a very clean camp. We kept everything in our car except our clothes which we kept in the tent. The park service is very protective of its bears and for good reason. Don't give a bear any excuse to be sniffing around your campsite. The sites are a little close and a little small, but we spent most of our time hiking and exploring the park so that wasn't a big deal. We also appreciated the showers behind the nearby camp store. You get 8 minutes of hot water for $2.50. I would definitely recommend this campground, and I would stay again. I posted some pics of the view from our site.

Very cool campsite. There are trees all over so all spots were nice and shaded. We stayed here 3 nights and saw a bear 1 of those days. The ranger told us bears regularly frequent this campsite because it is in front of a cliff. If a bear didn't get up on top of the cliff before getting close to the campground, it will just walk along the back side of the campground (where we were camped). The bear never got too close to us, but it was really cool to see. There is also a general store, a park shuttle stop and the boat dock a short walk away which was so nice. It says to have 25 feet or less for your rig. Our setup is just over 30 (19ft RV, 10ft trailer and a few feet connecting the two in between), and there were plenty of spots that we could fit in. Get a spot early. This campground filled up around 9am each day, even though checkout isn't until 11.

Best campground on the east side of the park. If you're tenting don't take a site on the front row closest to the road. The wind can get pretty strong at night and it can knock a tent down. Stick to the more wooded sites in back.

The campground and the facilities are well monitored and maintained by volunteers and park rangers. There are free shuttles that can take you to different trail heads around the park. There are plenty of wildlife and unfazed by humans. The black bears do not break into cars, so your vehicles are an optional storage location to the bear boxes. Just keep a respected distance and help keep these animals wild by not feeding them.
