After my son died in a hiking accident on Mt Grinnell, these cabins became my meditative, healing respite. Serene, quiet, remote. I loved hearing the river day & night, feeding the free range horses apples, & watching the horses ford the river each morning & night. Price was right for a long stay. The owners nice. I cooked on my own cook stove, welcomed friends for dinner, had music jams, & found inspiration. Very quiet. At least 10-15 min away from GNP.

We arrived to find the cabins were squalid, in deplorable condition, and looked nothing like her pretty pictures. We walked away from our 50% deposit when she rudely refused to even allow us to stay one of the four nights we paid for. Horrible person, stay away!!!

There was horse poop in front of most buildings and the cabins felt like they might topple in a storm but they were cozy and it was nice having access to running water.

Great place! Frank and his wife are very sweet and accommodating to all. They have showers for a small additional charge and bathrooms for free. The sites are on the river which adds a nice subtle noise for sleeping. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit.
We stayed one night but paid for two. Our plans changed and we had to leave early. Frank gave us a refund for the night we did not stay. Also, they answered the phone super late when we heading in to get directions.
If you are looking for a great campground a few minutes outside Glacier before heading in and a mom and pop vibe, you should stay at Elkhorn Cabins and Campground.
