This is my favorite campground in country with plenty trails and a breathtaking views at almost every site. I prefer June it's hit or miss with some Trails still being closed due to snow pack and avalanches but you won't have to deal with the crowds. Bring bear spray and use common sense it will be memorable experience.

My absolute favorite place in the park. You can walk to most of the good hikes from here, there is tons of wildlife, the views are spectacular, I wouldn't camp anywhere else. Swift current inn has your basic supplies, the restaurant is ok if you don't feel like cooking, they even have showers if you need them. They are expensive, $5 for about 8 minutes of water when I went.
Make sure you put everything that has ever touched food into your car or hard sided trailer, there are bears everywhere. I even walk around with my bear spray.
The rangers are very attentive. They definitely keep a tight leash which is good.
If you're lucky to get reservations it's way easier, if not show up really early to get a spot.

Good campground with plenty of accommodations and food/grocery's within walking distance if you need to refuel. Not the greatest views from the sites but so close to the Many Glaicer trails it's hard to beat

This campground situated us perfectly to explore the northeastern section of GNP. There are many trailheads around here leading to stunning views of glacial lakes. If you are looking for a strenuous hike, the nearby Grinnell Glacier hike is well worth the struggle up, and it offers beautiful panoramas the whole way. As for the campsites themselves, they are equipped with the usual picnic table and fire ring. If you're camping in the off season like we did, make sure to bring in your own firewood. It was hard to find around the area. We arrived around 5 or 6 o'clock on Tuesday, September 26th, and there were still many spots open. The area is wooded, which gives you a decent amount of privacy. The bathrooms at this time of year were primitive; vault toilets that were kept pretty clean. It would've been nice to have another vault though- there were lines at the one! They also cut off the water pumps in the primitive camp season, so make sure to bring in drinking water. Absolutely stay here if you get the chance!

Butifully situated, nice trails for walking, interesting tours to take. Spacious campsites with trees and open space for sitting outside in the sun.
