Stayed here for one night in a pet friendly room. This was to save having to make the road trip in the morning. I checked in at around 3 am no problems. The room was clean and tidy. Slept like a baby and my dog felt very comfortable as well. I think 2 stars is low for this hotel. Sure it's not a fancy skyscrapper with a pool on top but it's certainly not some low class 2 star hotel. Everything was great, I would considering staying here in the future without any hesitation.
My husband and I attended a family wedding this New Year Eve, December 31, 2022. The owners did a fantastic job, there was an afternoon tea with very nice appetizers and we were given tickets for a drink. The reception room was very unique and decorated beautifully, the dance floor had the Bride & Grooms initials on it! I believe we were about 60 people, dinner was 5 courses with wine pairings, Marlon did a wonderful job choosing the wines. The first appetizer was a Provençal encrusted lamb chop, delicious! The evening was well organized and the room decorated like a fairytale. We stayed the evening in a Deluxe room with 2 double beds, I liked that our renovated room had laminate flooring as the Hotel is pet friendly and I have allergies. The room was very clean and had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Our other family members were in older rooms and not as pleased as us but I am under the impression more renovations are planned. The next morning, New Years Day we attended a brunch with the wedding guests and once again the food was delicious, unique items and the service was excellent, more kudos to Marlon and his wife. If you are looking for a wedding venue for 2023 I highly recommend meeting Marlon and having a discussion!
Great stay here! The location is beautiful, right on the river. Staff were very polite and addressed any requests quickly and politely. It truly didn't feel like a hotel and even has fire pits and canoes and kayaks available for rent. The bathroom in our room could have been a bit cleaner but I understand that not everything is perfect.
This hotel is clean and river view rooms are quiet and scenic. My main concern is the airport shuttle. The shuttle is advertised as a free amenity and was one reason we selected this hotel. We booked through the Wyndham app and the shuttle was prominently featured as an amenity. At no point in the booking process was there any indication that it ran for only one third of the weekend hours. I've never encountered this before at any hotel that offers an airport shuttle. Flights come and go at all hours. We arrived around 7pm in Ottawa and had to take a $30 taxi to the hotel. I reached out to the manager about this and was told "we make a big effort to be transparent , and are advertising it correctly". When I showed screenshots proving that the hours are not advertised at all in the app, and in fact are buried three layers deep in the Hotel Info page, the manager acknowledged this was a problem but would not so much as apologize for the inconvenience. I was pretty disappointed by the customer service. Compensation for the taxi would be been ideal, but a little empathy is about the minimum in a customer service interaction.
Spent 6 nights. Location is great! Fitted sheets in the bed need to be replaced as ours was full of fuzz balls. Second day our room was not made up more were towels replaced. Third day had to ask for towels at 9:30 pm. Breakfast was the exact same for our entire stay. Would have been nice to have a change after so many days. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Bathroom is very tiny. Not very much room to turn around let alone get dressed after having a shower. Would stay again just for the location.
I thought I had a review before that I hoped to update but I could not find it. My initial visit solo was not so good. The room was musty and not very clean. I was offered an opportunity to give them another chance which I did - bringing my family this time. It was a much better stay this time. Room was spacious and comfortable and MUCH better condition than my initial visit. I'm not sure it would be worth 200$ a night especially given how far outside of downtown Ottawa it is but it is a convenient location for my needs so if it is on special I'd stay again.
We enjoyed the view from our room, made use of the balcony & chairs. Was like being at the cottage - fire pits and chairs were available by the riverside. Great choice at the Continental breakfast. Could have used some more accessible plugs for devices.Rooms: 5/5
The hotel did a great job with a celebration of life that I had planned. The venue was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers, connection to WIFI and speakers for music, a full range of drinks and refreshments prepared. The charcuterie board was amazing with a good selection of cheeses and meats. I had to plan this event from a different city so I put a lot of faith in the hotel sight unseen. I was not disappointed. I stayed overnight as well. The rooms are modest but clean and nicely air conditioned. We had a beautiful river view on the second floor. Dinner at the restaurant was good as was the included continental breakfast of eggs, sausages, toast, cereal, yogurt, juices, coffee and tea.
Stayed here to help prepare for a wedding held here. The staff were extremely helpful and all were very friendly!! The wedding venue is a gem in Ottawa with a beautiful hall, amazing food and the stunning river view outside that makes for great photos. The guest rooms were perfect for what we needed. Highly recommend for any event or stay!!
Terrible stay. We were given a damp and cold room in the lower level with no privacy whatsoever. We felt very unsafe. Door lock was very flimsy. We asked to be moved and told to close the curtains for privacy. No sign room cleaned during our stay. Loud noises from everywhere. This is not a hotel, but rather a very low quality motel. Advertising and photos very misleading!
