Hampton Inn by Hilton Ottawa Airport

My stay here was amazing!! I loved every part of it, from the breakfast, to the cleanliness, to the affordability… everything was just perfect! Also they were able to accommodate me last minute and even gave me an early check in for a really great price. I was stranded as the hotel I initially booked was a mess and I could not sleep there. And I came straight here at 7am after an overnight trip from Hamilton and no where to stay. The check in was a breeze and because of this I joined the Hilton Honors program!! I definitely would stay at Hilton hotels only from now on! It was an amazing experience, I honestly didn’t want to leave!!

The check-in and check-out were really smooth. The receptionist, Hanshul was very helpful and we checked it a little earlier than the actual check-in time. Breakfast was decent too. However as for the rooms, could do a bit better as there were no slippers provided and also no kits shower kits etc. that 3 star hotels normally provide. Also there was only one water fountain downstairs and the water had a strong chlorine smell.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with this hotel. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel my reservation three days before check-in, well in advance. Despite this, the hotel refused to provide any refund or even a credit for future use, which I found to be highly unreasonable.nnTo make matters worse, the manager, Candra, was exceptionally rude during our interactions, displaying a lack of professionalism and empathy. The dismissive attitude and unwillingness to work toward a fair resolution left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.nnI would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a positive and accommodating customer service experience. We stayed at the Hampton Inn by Hilton Ottawa Airport during OFSSA March 2024 and we were very pleased with the cleanliness, the hotel staff was great! Super friendly & accommodating, and the common area in the lobby is great to host team pizza's! Location is great too! Exactly where we needed to be.

They conducted fire alarm emergency testing just before 9am. This was on a Monday. Apparently they said they put notices up. We arrived at 2:00 am. Our only thought was sleep and bed. We never bothered to read anything-again-COMING off a flight and arriving for 2:00 am-we were NOT in a reading mindset. They never announced to us either that they were doing these tests. So we had no warning. They were doing individual room checks for each alarm, and there were many unoccupied rooms. For them to come at 9:30 am to our room was yet another annoying inconvenience. When we raised our concerns, all we got was an inddifferent “sorry”. We are not saying “don’t do fire alarm testing”….we are saying have decency and respect the customers. Tell people at check in. Not everyone reads at 2 am. Not everyone will leave their rooms during the day, and they also could have missed the postings. This hotel could have had the decency to start these checks at 11 am when guests checked out. On top of this: beds were not the greatest-they were ok. Woke up with a sore back. Tub was tiny and looked unwashed. Bathroom was hot despite us turning on airconditioner. We won’t be coming back.
