Disappointing Stay at Ramada NanaimonnI recently stayed at the Ramada Nanaimo, and unfortunately, it was a highly disappointing experience that did not justify the nearly $300 price tag.nnFirst and foremost, our room was filthy. We found a coin, a crayon, chunks of wood, and a chocolate on the floor – clear evidence that it hadn't been properly cleaned. It was disgusting and unacceptable. It made us question whether the room had been cleaned at all before we arrived.nnRight from arrival, this hotel was unwelcoming the entire reception desk was covered in plexiglass, making us feel like we were in a high-crime area. It was a sight that did nothing to reassure us about the safety of the hotel or its surroundings.nnThe breakfast offered was lackluster, consisting entirely of white bread and sugary items. There was a complete absence of healthier options outside of apples and bananas, which was quite frustrating.nnThe gym was a joke. Without a fan, it was a hot box of discomfort, making it impossible to get any real exercise done. This is a basic amenity that any decent hotel should provide.nnThe cherry on top was the toilet, which was broken from the moment we checked in. It wouldn't flush, which we discovered after we had put our kids down to sleep, thus we couldn’t have someone come in to fix it. One would think when cleaning a toilet someone would notice it was broken. That is, if the toilet was cleaned at all. Which, based on the state of the room I am not sure it was.nnIn conclusion, our stay at Ramada Nanaimo was horrendous. The combination of dirty rooms, inadequate facilities, and an overall feeling of insecurity made it one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. I would strongly advise against staying here. Save your money and find somewhere else – anywhere else – to stay.
Nothing unique or extraordinary about the hotel. An average place, no beautiful surrounding, and a very limited breakfast.nHowever, there was one managerial issue: An electrical technician was appointed to do the wiring including the drilling and all on the same floor and at the same time we were residing! You can imagine the noise and inconvenience. Although they offered moving to another room, it wasn’t worth the bother. My midday rest, after a long drive from Vancouver, was ruined anyway. They could've scheduled more properly.
The family visit to Nanaimo was worthwhile considering that we were lodged at Ramada. The rooms were neat. The hotel was chic and modern. The facilities and members of staff were friendly and courteous.nnThere was good and free breakfast for all and perhaps by way of suggestion, the menu should change after a few days so that one doesn't tired of a particular food after a few days.nnI will recommend this facility and I'll definitely use it when next I'm in Nanaimo. You should be here.
Front desk woman was super sweet, my husband and I stayed for 4 nights as we got married and she was super kind every time we passed by her, very professional but super kind. The rooms were very comfy, beds were great & the location was so close to everything it was great. We loved our stay!
Most of the other hotels in the area appeared pretty run down and had mixed reviews. This one was a little more expensive but everything was clean and tidy. We were able to see our car from the window of our room which gave us some reassurance. The surrounding area seemed a little better than some of the others we looked at as well.
