Diplomat Motel

Nothing fancy about this motel. Not far from the ferry. Staff were very nice and accommodating. They put our motorcycles right in front of the unit we were renting. The price of the room was very reasonable. The room we rented was very clean. Really nothing to complain about. Now where’s the hot tub and pool. O yeah, we got what we paid for and you know, we aren’t complaining.

Night Customer service: very bad as once we arrived he look like mad to help us get the room. Very unwelcoming Therefore: He has chosen for us my friend and I the worst room quality of room and the reason are: very hot, found flies and mosquitoes and not really good The worth of money: The max you can pay for this is $35/night including tax. That’s fair. But it was very expensive and very bad quality and value for the price. Wi-Fi: Very slow I tried to find this WiFi to be at least good to reduce a lot of pain but unfortunately it was very bad and very slow!! The most important of all is the night front desk was unprofessional and need to change or get a lot of training in: etiquettes Smiling to guests Greed the guests Be like he’s in their shoes to provide the best service The owner seems very cheap and want to gain and a lot of money

Was interested in staying the night on my first trip to Nanaimo but the front desk won't even answer, just picks up and hangs up. Either the staff is obscenely rude or just doesn't want the business. This place goes on my blacklist.

Booked the hotel at 11am and paid on expedia. Arrived at 10:15 that night and the guy at the desk said we had no reservation. We could see my name on the computer, but that guy argued to say it was expedia and we “didn’t” have a reservation. Again, my name was CLEARLY listed on the computer screen Left us in a huge bind after driving hours to get here. He clearly chose to take a walk in and give our room away and lie about it. I 100% don’t recommend.

Liked this place when we stayed for a night there. They exceeded our expectations in cleanliness and space. We were 4 and taken 2 room suite. Both rooms were decent sized and the living room was bigger than what I have seen in US. Also the sofa was big enough for 1 person.

I will never stay at this hotel again the owner was so rude my friend came to visit and she had a dog who was very quiet does not shed and is trained to go to the bathroom outside as soon as he seen the dog I was immediately kicked out of the hotel and he gave me 15 minutes to leave. he really needs a class on customer service I don't recommend to anybody. you know shame on them they could have asked politely if it was that big of a deal that they did not want the dog there not that I had to immediately leave the property.

Clean and well-maintained. This is my second stay at the Diplomat Motel and I would stay here again. It is dated, but the owners take good care of it. And ocean views from the bedrooms!
