A very good hotel, clean rooms, and especially the friendly staff, who were very helpful. I wanted to emphasize the very tasty breakfasts and the very nice lady who runs the kitchen. I often stay in hotels, but this was the first time I felt at home, and I owe that to the people who work here.
I appreciated being able to get a room that allows pets. The room was clean, and beds comfortable. My only disappointment was a boiled water in effect so had to buy water because we didn't know the front desk was supplying until we left. Also, because the ferry was late getting in 1:30am, construction started at 8 am.
I initially stayed at Prestige Hotel in August and had an excellent experience — which is why I chose to return for a longer visit. Unfortunately, this visit has been the complete opposite.nnAs a general contractor who books recurring stays for myself and my crew, I had requested daily room service at check-in and even had it noted in writing. Despite multiple reminders to the front desk and management two in-person discussions and three email exchanges, my room has consistently not been cleaned and the bed not made.nnI even received a written note apologizing and promising improvement — yet the very next day, nothing changed. I also specifically requested cleaning between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., but that was ignored as well.nnThis has been by far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, and it’s left me in utter shock. I’ve been nothing but respectful and patient, but the lack of follow-through, accountability, and care is unacceptable.nnI’ve decided to move my business to another hotel down the street and will no longer be booking with Prestige for myself or my crew. I expect senior management to contact me directly regarding this matter.
Great hotel, the bed was comfortable the pillows were amazing. I had a great view from my room.nnThe showers were great and the towels were SOFT!nnLocation was perfect, staff were very friendly!
This is a basic hotel, good for a couple of nights stay especially if you are doing the Inside Passage Ferry trip from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert. It is reasonably close to the Ferry terminal but you will need to either have your own car to get to the hotel or hire a taxi. The lobby area is clean and somewhat redecorated. There is a single computer and a vending machine which can be used in the lobby. Generally the property is clean and although it is an old building, it appears to have been redecorated. A big positive is the incredible fitness centre in the basement. Brand new equipment in that area and an excellent selection as well! The rooms are standard. We had a suite with a kitchen which was unexpected but very welcome as we were able to self cater. No issues with the linen etc. It all smelt like it had been recently washed. There is no restaurant on site unfortunately but a number of good restaurants very close by serving pizza, Indian, Greek, Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. The free breakfast is very basic-no hot dishes just cereals, bagels, toast, waffles and beverages. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. The front desk staff were very pleasant but not very knowledgeable about what to do in the area. Don't expect your room to be cleaned every day. They are clear about that-you have to give them 24 hours notice for a cleaning and they let you know that they only have 2 cleaners for the entire property. The hotel is not situated in the best part of town unfortunately so be mindful when walking out at night.
