Gross.nBesides the fact that they jack the prices up every year a bit more during the All Native Basketball Tournament event that brings so much $$$ to the city the quality of this hotel is getting worse too.nDirt everywhere on night stands, dressers, phones ; hair in the bedsheets. Bedsheets stink and almost smell like cold tobacco.nRooms are so not soundproofed and you can hear absolutely every single sound that comes from next door.nIf the quality of your hotel is gonna significantly decrease as years go by the best you can do is have a minimum respect for the customers and not jack up the prices.
I called to reserve 2 adjoining rooms on the 3rd floor as there was no option online. There were 2 adults and 7 children all under the age of 17. The official site said $128 per night. The front desk agent wouldn't acknowledge the price, repeatedly saying that's not my site. He said click on it and the price will be adjusted odd It clearly was.nSo I ended up paying $850 for 2 nights even tho it says kids stay for free.nI couldn't book online but the agent sent an email saying I didn't tell them it was kids and not adults, I mean if it was me I would have made the correction upon seeing the kids going into the room.nnIn the end I received a whole $46 back .nTotally not worth it, I only stayed there because I used to work with the agent that checked me in as well as the long term housekeeper that keeps the rooms really clean.nnP.S. when checking in guests it's only common sense to be friendly and actually acknowledge them upon entering the lobby.nnWhy are the same issues occurring from 5 or 6 years ago? Why doesn't someone let the owners know about the front desk agents ?
5 star rating for what it is. The hotel is old, dark and smells, but it's as clean as you could reasonable expect. The staff is cold but professional. But for a cheap place to stay in Rupert, I'm not sure if it gets any better.
Great location with lots of parking around the back. Rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. Lots of power cords are used in the room for additional fans and portable AC. Stayed here one night before catching the ferry in the morning. Great news if you are, the Tim Hortons 1 minute from the hotel is open 24 hours. Got coffee for the wait at the terminal.
It is never a good experience, but sometimes this is all thats left. The staff is always so rude. The restaurant is good, but the hospitality in this hotel is poor. The staff always look miserable and are not afraid to show it.
