A picture is worth a thousand words.nBut allow me to summarize: what appears to be a skid mark on the pillow, hair on the blanket some are long, some are.....curly and stained/dirty sheets. I wish I had a hazmat suit.nI did get them to replace the sheets and pillow not the blanket because I didn't notice how dirty it was until after but suffice to say, I was still grossed out for the entire stay.nnI was there for 3 nights, my coworker said their room wasn't cleaned at all on one of the days, so attention to detail is not this hotel's thing.nnI do NOT recommend this place.
The overall cleanliness of the hotel was poor including the elevator, hallways, rooms, and dining areas. The room was very large with a nice balcony and a view of the ocean, but the room would greatly benefit from having at least one more mirror besides just the one in the bathroom. There is also plenty of space for additional bedside tables on the outside of each bed, which would be nice. When we arrived we immediately noticed that our floors had not been cleaned. When we went to get into bed we discovered that it had already been slept in, and we had to phone the front desk to have our sheets changed while we waited in the hallway at 11:00 at night although kudos to the girl working the front desk for figuring this out with limited staff and resources at that time. There was construction happening in a room down the hallway - the shop vac and other Construction materials and garbage were left in the hallway. it could have easily been left in the room undergoing the construction with the door shut, but it was left in the hallway and the door to the room under construction was left open for at least an entire day and night. In addition to that, a door to the room containing the open laundry chute was left open. We were on the 8th floor. We closed that door ourselves as we felt it was a major safety concern. The free breakfast was simply mediocre. It contained eggs sausage potatoes and waffles and cereal. There was no fruit or yogurt or juice. The floors were dirty and the walls could all use a wipe down. The elevators and hallway walls were all grubby and due for a wipedown as well.
Old and tired would be an apt description. No heating control in room and the heater radiator falling apart. Bed had a major hump in the middle causing you to roll off the bed in both directions. The only saving grace is a friendly staff. At best 2 star
We stayed at the Highliner for four nights, and found the experience very positive. The new owners have made several improvements to the facility including room and menu upgrades. Our room was bright and cheerful with a beautiful wall-to-ceiling view of the city and water. The bed was comfortable, and I liked that I could control the room temperature easily. The food was very good, and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. There is an airport shuttle bus depot right in the hotel, which was an added bonus. I would recommend this hotel.
Booked through Expedia. Getting there late, there was no parking and very little light while trying to organize luggage to get in. Once inside it was clean and staff was friendly. The room was in fairly good condition but had cleaning supplies left behind. Outdoor view was over their own roof and a distant view of the ocean. Breakfast was free?… it did look to have more options if you were willing to pay. it wasn’t horrible but could definitely be better. Checking out was easy and quick
