Porzia's was such a hidden gem of an Italian restaurant. As I walked in, I could feel that very homie atmosphere that an authentic Italian home might provide. All the staffs were excellent and I could sense their positive vibes from the ways they presented themselves and communicated with one another. We ordered a variety of Porzia's notable menus including their famous lasagna and everything was so excellent. All the foods made me think that they were something that a loving Italian nonna would cook for her children and grandchildren. I am just complimenting how authentic all the foods were. While staying true to the Italian culinary traditions, Porzia's definitely displayed some innovative edges in their menu as well. For instance, I really loved their desserts including their Tiramisu ice cream. The chef really nailed the perfect balance to deliver this Italian classic in such a sweet and satisfying way. If you wanna try some excellent Italian dishes, Porzia's should definitely be included in your list. You must try their lasagna. It is definitely a headliner.
The calamari and lasagna were delightful. There was another pasta dish with shrimps which I found to be average, also the cocktails were tiny and overpriced. The service was intimate. I would come back solely for the lasagna, some of the best I've tried
My friends and I came to Porzia’s to celebrate my birthday. We waited a little more than an hour for our table, as they do not take reservations. Initially we were told it would take around 30-40mins for our table, which I thought was ok. The hour did drag on though, there is not much you can do around this area while waiting for a table. Fast forward, we finally get seated. The wait was so worth it because the food was spectacular. We ordered the focaccia and olives, panelle fritte and calamari to share. All of it was delicious.. the olives were so good that we ordered more to share. For the mains, I ordered the canestri w/ spicy rose.. and let me tell you, it was 10/10. Finally, a pasta that lives up to its name. This sauce has become my favourite sauce in the city. I’ve been raving about it to all my friends and coworkers. I absolutely loved this dish. My friends ended up ordering the tagliatelle red shrimp al limone. They both loved it and one of my friends ended up ordering one to go for lunch the next day. To end the meal, we got the tiramisu soft serve to share. For drinks, I definitely recommend the aperol spritz! It’s been a while since I’ve been very satisfied with a meal. Porzia’s definitely exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to return.
Service and atmosphere are very good but unfortunately the food is lacking. Tastes a little overcooked and lacks flavour. It’s not bad but for the price you can do better. The appetizers were very good however, I recommend the prosciutto and crostino
Favorite place in Toronto for Italian right now. That lasagna is chefs kiss, and the tiramisu ice cream for dessert. Just yes. They don’t take reservations but you can easily snag a table if you head at 6pm.
