Philippine Consulate General

Experience in the office itself was fine. However over a month after my wife processed her passport renewal, the consulate called us to return to have her picture taken again... When asked why, they didn't give any answer. So I assume it was their kapalpakan (error), no transparency whatsoever. We live over an hour away (each way) from the consulate office with 3 kids (2 babies). They ask us to come as if it was like 15min away... So drop the 4 stars, I just give a star for the office experience itself.

Probably I was at the right time. The service and processing of my passport was quick. Most of the staff that I interacted with were polite. The only bad thing that I experienced was when my number was called. I think the lady was in a rush to have her lunch break so another lady came to the counter. However, instead of helping me (or she could have just told me to wait for a few more minutes), she stood there organizing her pens and stamps for like 5 minutes. And when she took my documents, her speech sounded like she was annoyed probably because I have no photocopy of my ID and passport. But the other staff brightened my processing experience. One guy tried to crack a cheesy joke, and I had a good conversation with the other.

It was a good experience overall, there's a waiting time but it is still okay. Also called the Consular office today for information, and the person I talked to was very polite and very helpful, like a true Filipino, since we are known for being kind and hospitable people. Didn't get her name, but thanks for your help, & thank you everyone at the office. A few years back, I had an unpleasant experience when I called, the person on the other end was rude, so I'm glad this time I had an entirely different experience, a very positive one. Mabuhay ang Pilipino!

I am quite surprised with the star ratings of some customers here. Maybe, things have indeed changed for the better because my experience and that of the rest of my family was excellent. The staff were so courteous, quite eager to help, and the processing from step 1 to 8 was really fast. We originally thought the whole process would take longer. Wonderful service indeed!

Fast, organized and accommodating service. It would be even more convenient if they'd accept credit and debit transactions to keep up with the times.
