Requires paper claims for dental which is astounding in this day and age. Not everyone is happy to pre pay for entire procedures then wait for snail mail to process. On top of that I've had my paper claim refused for pretty silly reasons that could be easily fixed by emailing an additional document, but instead have to reprint and fill an entirely new claim to once again snail mail out.
Have PBC as our company’s provider as our head office is based in BC. This is one of the worst benefits providers I’ve ever dealt with. Their app will not allow you to find direct billing providers in Alberta nor will it allow you to add your practitioner if they’re not based in BC. When I’ve called and spoke to a customer service rep, they’re less than helpful and honestly try to get off the phone as quick as possible. Chiropractic invoices have to be submitted via snail mail adding additional delays getting reimbursed. Very frustrating company to deal with.
I would give them a minus 10!!! This has been an absolutely horrendous experience. I am still trying to sort things out after a transfer from Blue Cross Medavie in Nova Scotia. I would never recommend this company. I was told incorrect information prior to moving here and was told it would be a much a much lower premium price. All I have had is headaches and them telling me I am wrong when I am not. They tried to increase my premium after signing me up. They forced me to take dental when I didn't need it. Now they are telling me I signed the contract with the plan when I had no choice. It is discriminatory to force me to have dental for 2 years that I never wanted in the first place. Apparently, new members are not required to take the dental? The whole thing is a mess, and it is all their fault. I feel bullied and torally misled by them. I hope they sort this out, or I will be forced to take legal action. I would never have moved here had I known what I know now. Medication and other coverages are important to me. It has cost me a fortune to move here. They are causing me incredible medical anguish on top of the money spent. I am also going to touch base with my MLA and other representatives.
Great experience with Pacific Blue Cross! Their claims process was easy and fast, and customer service was very helpful when I had questions about my benefits.
I had the pleasure of dealing with agent Hannah at PBC. I work in a dental office. A patient's approval for a crown was sent to a different office. Hannah followed up in record speed. If that wasn't impressive enough, she followed up the next wk with a call, to ensure that we have received the crown approval! She's a true gem in call centres!
