If you’re like me, I dread having to buy a new car, mainly because of the high-pressure sales tactics by most new cars salespeople. My experience this time around with Orangeville Nissan was different, it was truly exceptional and therefore I felt the need to post my experience. First off, I knew what I wanted and was ready to commit to purchase, but only if I got the deal I was looking for, otherwise I was fully prepared to walk away.nnWhen I arrived, I began walking the lot to see their new inventory. Despite spending 15-20 minutes doing so, I wasn’t approached by anyone, I liked that. My view is that if I’m serious about buying a car, I’ll approach a salesperson. If I’m not or on the fence, especially, I don’t want to be approached by anyone, I’ll ask when I’m good and ready, or if I need to have some questions that couldn’t be answered by my online search.nnI made my way to the showroom to speak to a salesperson. Everyone seemed to be busy at the time and I kind of wondered why, but as I walked around the floor one salesperson, Amir, made eye contact with me, stood up, introduced himself and asked if I had any questions. I had several and that initiated our discussion. I found Amir to be very pleasant, very knowledgeable and very professional. The subtle differences with past experiences was that I led the conversation and that made me comfortable.nnI think I spent approximately 2 hours or more with Amir, reviewing the model I was looking at and the difference between two trim levels. He asked if I was interested in a test drive of one of their executive demos top trim level and I said yes. We spent a good amount of time reviewing all the features in the car, before starting out. In all, I’d say we spent a good half hour during the test drive. At that point I was ready to start talking about how good a deal they could offer.nnI found Amir to be very perceptive. When we started chatting about price, he could see I was serious and acknowledged that I wasn’t there to waste his time or mine. I knew what I wanted to pay, and he could tell. In short, we were about $400 apart. It may not seem a lot to anyone else, but it meant a lot to me, given I’m retired. I was prepared to walk away. Amir then asked me to give him a couple of minutes to see if he can get something he’s thinking authorized before offering it to me. He came back and offered 4 complimentary full synthetic oil changes, which would have otherwise cost just over $400 if I had to pay for them myself. Now I got the deal I was looking for. I still didn’t commit at that point, I walked away with the offer in hand and took the following day to think about it, during which time I texted Amir with various other questions that came to mind. His responses were prompt and when he wasn’t sure, he indicated so but also indicated he would find out the answer for me.nnI drove over an hour away from where I live to Orangeville Nissan, despite the fact there were several other Nissan dealers closer to me including the one I’ve been visiting for the past 15 years to service my Maxima, why? Because I knew Orangeville Nissan is where I could get my best deal, and they had the largest selection of inventory of the vehicle I was interested in at the time. Now I understand why they were so busy; they treat people well and can offer them the best deal. I let Amir know towards the end of the following day that I’d take the deal. I would highly recommend Orangeville Nissan to anyone and highly recommend Amir Javan-Mehr as their first point of contact. I wish all salespeople conducted themselves like Amir and he’s certainly going to be the 1st person I go see if my next vehicle is another Nissan.
