Noma is very typical of sushi restaurants in local neighborhoods. The menu includes a nice blend of the usual favorites with some in-house creations for those wanting something different. We appreciated our waiter telling us about the flavor and scent of the seafood we were ordering. It was a level of care and attention that was welcome. The rolls and sushi were fresh and flavorful on the whole. Large rolls were oversized for single mouthfuls and the vegetable roll was mostly spring mix salad available at any grocery store. The BC roll was full of cooked salmon, rather than toasted salmon skin as normal. However, the food was all quite tasty. Where the restaurant misses five stars is in cleanliness and upkeep. The inside seating seems more of an afterthought and the place is showing wear and tear. One particularly bothersome part of our meal was the flying insects. We encountered an aggressive wasp, house flies, and small fruit flies. If we were outside, I would understand; but we were inside and away from the door. Is this sushi restaurant worth a visit? Yes, I think so. It is not going to be destination dining; but a good choice if in the area.
Been here a couple of times. Good quality sushi and the chicken katsu was tops according to my wife. The service was great, Overall a nice meal.Recommended dishesChicken Katsu Don, Roll, Miso Soup
Best sushi spot in Langley. My boyfriend has been going here since it opened, but I always insisted on ordering from a spot much further away. It was my first time trying Noma Sushi, and it exceeded all expectations! We ordered pretty basic rolls, Alaska, Beef teriyaki roll, spicy salmon and tuna rolls, and the green salad. Everything was extremely fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared! No pictures because we ate it all very quickly lol. We ordered pickup but the restaurant was so beautifully decorated for the holidays, such a good ambience, and extremely friendly staff. I would definitely dine in next time. Also, they’re very fairly priced! Will be our new regular sushi spot! 12/10
Visited here based on the positive reviews. Service was very quick, and the menu good. Ordered a dynamite roll, spicy tuna roll and some salmon, tuna and Toro sushi. The rice the the rolls was 'mushy', and the rolls didn't have treat flavors. The rice for the sushi was great - firm, textured and slightly sweet - really nice. The fish on the sushi was a bit warm, and the texture was not firm. Overall, it was OK, but would likely try different spot next time out.
Not a great experience after some hype Waited over 30 minutes after ordering with no interaction with the staff - busy with takeout makes sense but was too long with no updates Food after around 40 mins looked good and tasted good at first but there were bones in the sashimi and even in the Red Dragon Roll picture and sashimi tasted a bit frozen still When brought up to the server after, was told to pay for the bill first to bring the master to the chefs Two star and not one as the gentleman that chatted with us after was accommodating, sincere and apologetic and took off the sashimi off our bill after
A really good take-out neighborhood sushi joint! Good sized portions, decent, authentic quality and reasonable prices. I'd say it's a step up in quality and authenticity from most neighborhood sushi restaurants. It's not intended to be high end dining though so temper your expectations accordingly. A favourite go-to of mine!
Came in for a late night snack and first experience at this location. A Korean owned Japanese restaurant with friendly staff and modern order taking devices. Parking spaces are shared with the strip mall complex. Inside has a modern contemporary feel with several tables and bar seating. Their Sockeye Sashimi & Avacado in Ponzu sauce topped with asparagus has a mild interesting flavour hard to describe, but it tastes like a mixture of vinegar, lemon, and soy sauce. Gyoza here is quite different than other restaurants. Instead of frying, it's baked or toasted on one side making it slightly dry and crispy. These two items including tip came to about $18.
This review is based on the Ramen noodles we ordered. We love Ramen and we were extremely disappointed to be served what seemed and tasted like Instant Ramen Noodles from this restaurant. The only difference with this Ramen is the added garnish to make it look fancy but it was no where even close to be a real Ramen.
Our new sushi spot for a while now. Never have had to wait for a table Might be our timing. Service is always friendly, and always very quick. Food is delicious and is well priced. Will continue to come here for our Sushi cravings.
Good food, good portions, and a reasonable price. We dined in the other night and enjoyed our visit. Food was fresh and portions were larger than we were used to at other places so we ended up with leftovers. Pricing is pretty standard and reasonable considering the quality. Definitely recommended if you are in the area!
