I come here almost every time I visit Toronto to bring food home to the States. Nice selection of Vietnamese prepared foods, like rice or noodles with vegetables and slices of sausage, spring rolls, or cha lua. Some desserts ranged from sweet sticky rice to colorful mung bean, red bean, banana flavored items...fyi that they're all actually not that sweet to the taste. Banh mi sandwiches are still good, even though prices have gone up slightly. I'm not sure if it's my imagination but seems like through covid years, they got a little smaller. We love the #1 that comes with everything. This location is small inside but always busy. They make their own varieties of Vietnamese sausage from chicken or pork and sandwiches are fresh daily. Note: I love to add Japanese kewpie mayo to my banh mi sandwich CASH only!
Not like how I remembered these banh mis to be from the downtown location. I know they have some pretty strong offerings of banh mis and still cannot beat the price. The pickled veggies were nicely done and the sausage had some. Ice flavour, but something that should be nostalgic just want there for me. However, they still pump out a ton of banh mis and for the price, if you’re looking for a quick snack, these would be perfect! Service is not what you’re gonna expect for a markham / Scarborough establishment, more of an old school Chinatown feel, so be prepared for that. They have a menu in English, and there might be a language barrier, but they know how to pump them out quick! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content!
2022 March 3 A typical Vietnamese store serving banh mi Vietnamese style buns and desserts. This shop also sells an assortment of prepared meats. The assorted cold cut sandwich $3.50 was good. Though not much pickled radish at this price. Meat portions are about the same or slightly less. Given the price, it's still decent value for the money. The pandan dessert served with a pandan sauce was good. Not too sweet, but the pandan was light. The banana dessert paired with an sweet coconut dipping sauce was also ok if your into bananas. Vietnamese style Pork and Beef jerky made by another place is also available and if good. Parking plenty, but can get crowded as a supermarket is nearby. Banh Mi buns are a decent price, but they should not skimp on the pickled radish and rather increase the price. As this is the closest banh Mi place in the area, good if you're craving it.
Haven't been here in a few years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Wow! What a shocker! The sandwiches banh mis were the same, they always run out of cucumbers in the afternoon and the prices have nearly doubled. I remember a few years ago you could get the same sandwich for $2.50 but now they're $4. Pretty average sandwiches and for the prices they're now charging I believe it's a bit overpriced. Unfortunately, they have no competition so they're free to charge whatever prices people are willing to pay.
Love coming here to buy all my Vietnamese goodies! All the ladies here are always so nice to me. Recently came here to buy Vietnamese cold cuts, butter, pate and baguettes to make a Bahn Mi charcuterie board l, and it was a total hit!
I usually go here for their banh mi sandwiches. They have however increased their prices lately but can’t really blame them with higher inflation. As this is an Asian business, don’t go in expecting exceptional service and they only accept cash. Last time I was there, the cashier was inspecting the bill I used for payment like it was counterfeit by scratching it. I had just withdrawn it from one of the Big 6 banks’ ATM earlier that morning. It doesn’t bother me the cashier was checking for counterfeit bills but if your business is going to deal only in cash than it maybe worthwhile to invest in a counterfeit bill detector machine. How can a business that only accepts cash as payment also has questionable confidence in it? After concluding the banknote was genuine, I got my banh mi and they hit the spot. Nevertheless I really hope the owner makes changes to improve their service. It’s questionable if I’ll return.
Best banh mi in town. All of their locations are consistent in terms of their food quality and taste because it essentially comes from their factory that distributes/sources all the ingredients and food to their storefronts such as this location. I usually get their spicy banh mi or grilled chicken. They make it fresh daily and make for a great snack or whenever I’m craving banh mi. They also have a deli meat section and other fresh food they prepare the morning of for snacking or to make your own meals at home. I’m lucky enough that it’s down the street from where I live so the location is great for me. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for authentic viet banh mi sandwiches.
Gotta say the banh mi from them is 10 times better than the ones getting from T&T. The baguette itself was a lot softer, the filling was fresher, more substantial and therefore tastes alot better. The price has gone up quite a lot in the last few years, but it is still worth it, and it is a perfect bite for lunch. Better to have the bigger banh mi dac biet, even it costs 5 bucks but it is at least 30% bigger than the original one that costs 4 bucks.
The best Vietnamese subs in the area! We come here and get multiples all the time. They are so efficient and always great watching them making subs right in front of me. $5/ each is such a steal. Follow me for more food adventures on Instagram at @maggielicious.to
My family loves these Vietnamese sandwiches! The Bánh mì is fresh, reasonably priced and served quick. The ladies are always friendly, too.
