Excellent pastry. However bread and tennis rolls taste have changed over the years. No longer have that back home taste... Seems ever since Robin Narine left, the new people have been playing around with the recipe. Please go back to the original taste. We want to continue to support your business

Came by here a few times and managed to get bread fresh out the oven. The smell of fresh bread is just fascinating. Staff and service is good and prices are reasonable. Enjoyed the convenience of being able to get lemonades here. The pastries weren’t that great. I would prefer if they would make the pastries tastier and charge a little extra to offset the additional costs, rather than keeping it cheap with a subpar taste.

Have been going here for a very long time, and have only positive things to say. Many thanks to the owners and staff for keeping this business going, as it is a staple to the Guyanese/West Indian community living in Ontario and anyone indulging in Guyanese culture, especially on the east end. 100% vegetarian products. Freshly baked bread, pastries. They also have a variety of snacks. I also recommend trying some Mauby if you haven't, as it has some health benefits its an aquired taste. Enjoy!

Best place to get Guyana style hot fresh bread.. been coming here for years.

Naraine's carries the best West Indian bread and baked goodies. They have been very consistent over the years and it's always fresh!

I love the freshly baked Guyanese style plait bread, dinner rolls, tennis rolls and assorted pastries, pine tarts, cheese rolls, chinese cakes and butter flaps or cheese flaps. Some items are also available in whole wheat. You can also get some beverages if you can't wait to start enjoying your goodies, can't get enough!!

This bakery brought back serious childhood memories! The last time I visited a Naraine's bakery was in Guyana when I was a child. I had fond memories of walking to the bakery with my grandmother to buy tennis rolls & plait bread fresh out of the oven. In my elder years, I relied upon my Mum bringing back tennis rolls from Guyana. However, once I found out that I was within proximity of a Naraine's bakery, I decided to pay a visit to this store. Lo & behold, the smell of fresh baked bread hot out of the oven hit my nose even with a mask on & my childhood memories came rushing back!! The true test came when I got home & indulged my craving for fresh bread & tennis rolls...I was satiated! I didn't think they could match the original Guyanese bakery, but boy oh boy they sure did!! For anyone looking for fresh baked bread hot out of the oven that just melts in your mouth, look no further! I also bought the kurma, tamarind balls & chinese cakes. The kurma was finished before I got home lol & how can you go wrong with tamarind balls?! The chinese cakes did not taste as good as the main pastry shops in Guyana, but it was doable for me since this is my favorite pastry in the world!! I also have to mention the warm, friendly girls who greeted me upon entry into the bakery & their efficient & impeccable service! Thank you!!

The best bakery hands down! They have the friendliest staff ever. The bread is always fresh and warm. The place is clean. They also have a range of stuff they sell, not just bread. They have mithai, pulouri, dhaal poori, cream soda, lemonade, etc. The cashiers are always so welcoming and kind and always so ready to help with any questions that I have. Love it!

When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly female staff and we smelled freshly baked bread and pastries. The store was clean. I would definitely take the drive again to Scarborough from Ajax for fresh bread and pastries.

Went yesterday for the first time. Really fresh, baked daily. I bought enough pastries to drop off at 3 different relatives homes. They all agree it was better than they tasted else where. I also liked that you can do bulk order once you give them a day's notice as it will helpful for family functions. In addition to the pastries, I got the cheese flap which was really good as well. I appreciated the staff as she made suggestion such as letting me know the cheese flap just came out or that the owner is very strict on keeping things fresh.
