Bun King Bakery

Had the pleasure of stopping in at this classic bakery: The smell is just amazing and cozy. Not much breads available for purchase on this particular trip. But I did manage to grab some butter croissants ! They were so soft and fluffy and just as yummy as I remember. $1 for one, I’d say it’s pricey but definitely worth it. I remember when it was 25cents, so it’s been a while. However, the lady working was very kind: And continuous baked good were being brought out fresh from the oven. Will definitely be returning to try more. I hear the Egg Bun is amazing, so also looking forward to that. Check out this little bakery, it’s a gem forsure!

I love this bakery. The aesthetics of the place are so nostalgic, the whole store smells like hot fresh bread, they have a great assortment of baked products like bread, cookies, danishes, croissants, bagels and more! All the food is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend trying their egg bread and onion bread if you haven’t, it’s absolutely perfect for a sandwich. The owner was also very kind :

I bought bagels twice two days after moulds all over the bagel, I went back to complain about it... The lady gave me a new one but I when I looked inside still the same Bagels have moulds, the sad parts is they still selling them.. No one is checking their stuffs if its still ok... I even have a pictures I just don't know how to load it here...

I've been purchasing my baked goods from this particular location since 2009...can't stop,won't stop. Great service,staff and product. Highly recommended.

Pretty good bakery, the lady is very nice, also if i remember i’ve been coming here ever since 2016-17. I also go here after my class ends to buy some egg buns weekly, since my school is just 1-2 mins away. I would also recommend the egg buns because they are good with most spreads but I do personally like it with Nutella. I don’t know if the lady used to treat kids like me because when i was like 9 she would always look for my parents if i was in the bakery alone to buy some bread

AVOID this place IF you're ASIAN. I come to this bakery pretty often but the lady always charges me more than the man. I thought prices went up but whenever its the lady I always find myself paying more than the advertised price for the same bread and baked goods. Needless to say they lost me as a customer. Be transparent with your prices instead of charging whatever you feel like miss.

Wonderful friendly service. Delicious always fresh baked goodies. The bagels are huge and the very best Nanaimo bars on the planet

I have been a customer for years. I moved out of the area 2 yrs and I still take the time to get my fresh baked quantity of egg buns and other baked goods. The staff is friendly, and the service is excellent.

Love visiting this place every time I have spaghetti. It just doesn’t taste the same with out fresh bread. Went the other day and they had pistachio cake. Good for vegetarian choices. Made with dry eggs. Not good for vegans.They only make four a week. When they are sold out. You have to wait till her husband makes more it has a shelf life of fourteen days. They also sell stroudelle and different fresh bread baked everyday!
