I pass by 3 gyms on my way to this location but it's worth it. Excellent gym! Great group classes and they're back-to-back, friendly instructors and good teaching contents too. The whole place is clean and organized, smells and looks good. Front staffs and managers are friendly. The women's locker and bathrooms are very clean and tidy. Not a tiny dust sitting on the corner and on the floor. The cleaner staff named Elvie is continuously cleaning-up and polishing; also friendly and polite. I like the privacy of women's only pool and hot tub. The bench to the locker doors are equally spaced, not having to check any open doors when you're getting up. No cafeteria, only a drink bar with lots of healthy drinks, smoothie selections. More pics to come...

The gym itself is great. I love how big and spacious everything is and there is a great gym for girls only. However the management is a different story. We booked a visiting appointment at 8:30pm however they made us wait until 8:45pm to show us around. I know this isn’t a big deal however I was still mad that my time was wasted when there were staff just chilling and talking. Someone else could have easily showed us around but we had to wait for one of the “management” members so that she could pitch her sales speech afterwards. I was also mad at the fact that they were the ones to set the time when we called in so they shouldn’t be the ones late. Also when the tour was finished the management told us that they will start our guest pass 7 days trial tomorrow which is great however since we were at the gym already we decided to use some of the equipments. The management found out and told us she have to start the guest pass today because we were using their gym. I MEAN like we were already there and we just wanted to test out some of the equipments because we were excited. PLUS it was already 9pm which means we would have 6days left of the trial rather than 7days. I just think they are cheap for doing something like this and I believe the customer service can be a bit better.

Awesome variety of classes, very professional instructors, been to many gyms and this place is the best. Very clean pool, sauna, showers. This is a place you can spend the whole day, feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Thank you Movati Richmond hill, this place rocks Or another thing they recently added very high quality shampoo, body wash and conditioner in every shower at least for women as far as I know with no impact on the the price

Once they get your money they don't care about you. They cancelled my account without my permission and took a penalty from me without my consent AND they took the payment for the whole year. Would NOT recommend this gym at all. They are also supposed to give you a one on one session with a trainer but my trainer didn't show up to the appointment and I messaged her a couple of times with no response. The gym rescheduled my appointment... again they did not show up.

Horrible management, Poor culture that does not care about who they hire, most trainers aren't in shape with Disrespectful and Condescending Attitude. Personal trainers come in all shapes and sizes, but they should be the inspiration clients need when working toward their fitness goals, I guess my question is why you only hire the once that they look like they need to hit the gym? More often Hiring more fit trainers also adds credibility. When people perceive them as being in good shape, they naturally assume you know how to help them reach their goal. simple smile can win you, loyal customers, teach it to your staff & hand them a danbal once a while. All you need to do is to train your staff to greet your members as warmly as possible not eye-rolling Make it a point to make all members appreciated. This behaviour can lead to long-term bonds.

Good gym! One star goes for rude front desk staff. No welcoming attitude and they never greet the members. On Aug 25 around 11am, About 6 members entered and non of them were greeted or even acknowledged. There were about 5 staff at the front and they had their own congregation going on. Very unprofessional.

Cancelled my membership on Nov2021 because of couple of surgeries! Manager said we don’t have cancellation but I do a favour for you! It seems Signed documents never uploaded on the system by manager! I noticed they did charge my debit even after contract ended! Although I show them text messages the General manager didn’t refund my money! Movati is the only fitness club that have No cancellation even if you have cancer!!! Think twice before sign up!

I have purchased a premium plan at Waterloo centre to have access to all MOVATI at Dec2022. At 21st Jan. 2023, I have tried the “Richmond hill” centre. It turns out the one at Richmond hill is “platinum” and you need to pay 5$ more to attend. First of all, I didn’t see really quality differences between these two centre even the poll and shower area at Waterloo was much cleaner. Secondly, the person who signed the contract with us didn’t mentioned clearly which centre we have access. In general, I didn’t like the way stuff treats. Inside also was very crowded and you need to wait to have access to different machine sometimes 5-10 min.

sloppy locker rooms and a filthy pool to swim in I had the gym membership for 6 months, and when I gave them notice to quit on January 3rd, they removed my bank information, so my cancellation didn't go through, and they still charged me for one more month. When I contacted, they stated it wasn't their problem and that you had to make payment or we'd send it to collections. When you requested them to speak with their manager, they come up with exuces. If you check other reviews you will find out the same thing happened to lots of other people. THEY KEEP CHARGING YOU UNTIL YOU FIND OUT !!!

I strongly suggest that managers of the club, and peoples who want to join the Movati Athletic club read this review. I have been the member of Movati athletic club since 2012 I joined when I lived in Waterloo and I used different Movati clubs in Waterloo, Guelph, and London. I moved to Richmond Hill area and have used the facility in last several years from the time of opening. I never ever saw Movati club this crowded like tonight ,17th October at 8pm! It looks like an after-school facility for teenagers. Upstairs was very crowded, and I decided to go downstairs for whirlpool, swimming pool, and sauna. Steam sauna did not work that may happen and it is totally undrestandable, and the other one was super crowded that people were standing since there were no place to seat. There were 11 teenagers in whirlpool!!! and it was super noisy. There were also 10 people in the pool. I just standing for 4-5 minutes to watch the surrounding since I was totally shocked and I left. I rarely write a review but I think new people need to know before joining specially these days. I talked with supervisor, and she told anyone more than 13 years old can join and she can not prevent them! I even asked if there is any cap for the number of memberships and she told NO. I asked her if anybody else told that the facility is super crowded and she said NO! If you are already a member and read this comment and agree with it, please show the reaction and talk with supervisor and say that you are not happy about this enviroment these days that maybe managers make a decision about future. Otherwise, I am very close to cancel my membership and Movati will get a bad reputation in business if they keep going like this.
