Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dickson City/Scranton

I love this place. I've stayed here about 6 or 7 times since 2014. It's probably the best thing in Dickson City actually. (Dickson City, PA looks like it has seen better days!) The owner is the nicest person on the planet, and he's not afraid to dive into the work. I've seen him set up the breakfast bar and clean up spills. He's at the front desk taking calls and handling check-ins and check-outs. The hotel appears to be newer. Certainly, it is well-maintained. The rooms have always been clean during my stays, and this includes the bathrooms (see attached photos). I like the fact that the hotel is not very large. If I take the stairs, I am not exhausted by the time I reach the top floor. The rates are very fair, and I enjoy the breakfast. It's not fancy, but it fills me up for my road travel. It's located off of I-81, and the biggest challenge is just finding the entrance to the parking lot. It is necessary to cut through the parking area of a dumpy-looking, auto repair place to reach the hotel. There is a small sign by the side of Main Street to indicate where to turn. It would be pretty easy to miss it if you were not looking for it, so be sure to keep an eye out. But once there, the hotel is very welcoming and pleasant after many hours of road travel. I will definitely be back the next time I am in that part of the country.

This is an extraordinarily well run hotel offering huge value for the money. There is great attention to detail and guest service. Tim the owner and his staff are friendly and ready to do whatever is needed to accommodate the needs of their customers. Rooms are spacious with all the amenities you'd expect at a higher end hotel. The offer a nice breakfast with waffle makers and plenty of other choices. Location is good, right off the highway and with a very nice restaurant next door - Nosh - specializing in cool cocktails and small plates. Highly recommended.

Value for money. It is conveniently located, near lots of restaurants and shopping centres. The rooms are nice, clean and huge in size. Rooms have microwaves, which is a good thing. The service is okay. Also, there is a 24 hours free coffee bar!

Allowed late check out, as we arrived after 2am. Solid service. Room was decent, shower water pressure was a tad low. Worth the c-note.
