Metro Côte-des-Neiges

Story

Côte-des-Neiges station is a Montreal Metro station in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and serves the Blue Line. It is located in the Côte-des-Neiges area of the borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. It opened in 1988.OverviewIt is a normal side platform station built in tunnel. A ticket hall, also in tunnel, diverges to two entrances, one on each side of Ch. de la Côte-des-Neiges. The western entrance is housed in an imposing building containing a stained glass window by Claude Bettinger, while the eastern one is integrated into another building and includes a suite of sculptures by Bernard Chaudron. A second stained-glass mural by Bettinger is found in the transept leading to the platforms.Origin of nameCôte-des-Neiges station takes its name from the road on which it lies: Côte-des-Neiges Road.Côte-des-Neiges Road takes its name from the settlement originally on this location, the Village of Côte-des-Neiges, which was created in 1862, and annexed by Montreal in two parts in 1908 and 1910.The name for the area, Côte de Notre-Dame des Neiges (Our Lady of the Snows Hill), dates from the early 18th century. The name lives on in the church and the school in the centre of the former village.

I dont like coming here even though its one of my only choices, i guess thats the business model. They don't accept 100 dollar bills. The staff are sometimes helpful, but good luck finding what you need. Have had a couple of unnecessarily rude encounters with staff for issues related to mislabeled items or missing prices entirely. They often place premium items next to labels that say for sale, so you get confused. Always understocked. They have security gates that sound an alarm when you leave the self checkout. The management seems to sort of assume everyone's a thief, which is rich when you look at their prices. A generally unpleasant shopping experience.
I was in for 5 minutes, forgot my wallet in my car, as I was leaving, a security guard demands to look into my shopping bag, sees nothing, he’s determined to find something, asks to check my small backpack, finds nothing. I’m enraged and insulted cuz since when is this allowed. I know for a fact it’s against the law. I collaborated for the simple reason that it was rush hour, I didn’t want to make a scene. I didn’t shop there and I will report him to the store’s boss. I have to calm down. How rude! Based on nothing but to intimidate and feel hot. Total dirtbag who needs to be trained before employment!!
Very straightforward shopping experience. The isles are decent. The front entrance and exit is always messy looking because they need to renovate.nnThe staff is kind and will help if they aren’t busy restocking.nnMost times, you need to bag your own groceries.nnI like that they are open during late hours.nnThey run low on stock often because they have a high volume of traffic.
Not a great selection of juices. Ice creams are mostly missing. Fewer selection of snack items. Good selection of sugary snack items.
**Metro Store on Cote-des-Neige, Montreal: A Gourmet Haven in the Heart of the City**nn**A Culinary Palette**nnTucked into the bustling streets of Montreal's Cote-des-Neige neighborhood, the Metro Store offers its patrons a selection of food that can only be described as both vast and premium in quality. For aficionados of European delicacies, the variety of cheeses and salamis is enough to transport one to the old-world alleys of Paris or Rome. The range is extensive, catering to both traditional and exotic tastes.nn**Inclusive Offerings**nnWhile the store does boast of an impressive range of pork products, it ensures that inclusivity remains at the forefront of its offerings. For those who abstain from pork, the alternatives are just as delightful. From succulent beef cuts to fresh, aromatic fish, the choices are plentiful, ensuring that every patron finds something to suit their palette.nn**Accessibility and Location**nnThe Metro Store's location on Cote-des-Neige is nothing short of strategic. Whether you're on foot, returning from work, or making a quick pit-stop during a bus journey, its accessibility is unmatched. It's a testament to their understanding of the urban Montrealer's lifestyle – fast-paced yet discerning.nn**Parking: A Word of Caution**nnA minor hiccup in the otherwise smooth experience is the parking situation. It can get crowded, given the store's popularity. Moreover, there's a stringent policy in place, overseen by vigilant security personnel. Vehicles parked without the intention of shopping at the store can be towed, so it's advisable to be mindful of this when visiting.nn**Price Point**nnQuality often comes at a price, and the Metro Store on Cote-des-Neige is no exception. The premium nature of the products means that the pricing is slightly higher than what one might encounter at other grocery stores. However, for those who prioritize quality over cost, the difference is well justified.nn**In Conclusion**nnThe Metro Store on Cote-des-Neige, Montreal, stands as a beacon for quality groceries in the city. With its vast offerings, strategic location, and commitment to premium products, it promises an unmatched shopping experience. While one might need to be a bit more vigilant about parking and budget slightly more for their grocery shopping, the returns in terms of quality are undeniable.
