Memories of Japan

I have been coming to Memories of Japan for almost two decades. The cooking table has always been a great, joyous and fun experience for the kids who never get tired of it and we enjoy it as well. The food is cooked in front of you and it's always tasty and great! The price is half of what you'd pay in downtown area and my family enjoys coming back to this place and we enjoy it. The waiters are friendly and accommodating. We will be coming to Memories of Japan for years and years!

This restaurant used to be great and I've visited dozens of times, but today was the last time I went there. The reason is rude service by their waiting staff and manager. We came as a group of 9 people and were expecting to pay the Party Special lunch price as advertised on their web site. When we were given menus, we noticed the price there is $4 per person higher. We asked the waitress about the difference and were told "the price in menu is the price". At this point we called for the manager, who initially refused to even acknowledge the error even though the price is clearly indicated on their web site and displayed to him on a smartphone! After arguing he said he was willing to honor the price but that he would remember our faces and would not allow us to get the discount in the future! We stood up and left the (nearly empty) restaurant. Went next door to Mongolian Grill and had a great time there.

Great all you can eat sushi overall! The food was awesome, the waiter was very prompt and taking care of us very well, the prices are fair. I would also like to add that I tried lots of salmon sashimi and unlike most all you can eat sushi places, their salmon had a very good and high quality taste and texture. Definitely try this place, if you are even slightly interested in sushi. Definitely worth a try!

Been to this place for Teppanyaki. Overall, food was ok, the fried rice was dry and oily. Price was decent, and very full. Staffs were nice and friendly. 3 stars!

Eighties decor and music. Food is edible but either too bland or salty. Tempura is mostly batter and mushy. The tepanyaki quality seems to be better than the dining area. Little flies swarm around the tables so cleaniness is an issue. There isn't much customer traffic so freshness is questionable. The staff are all Chinese and will speak in Mandarin or Cantonese to each other. Would not choose to come here. There are many better options for Japanese food in the city.
