There I was, a malnourished Valorant player. I had not even accidentally lifted anything more than 5 pounds in my entire life.nnThat was until I went to MEC and my guardian angel saved me. Behold, Chris with a beard and black hat working beside the climbing shoes specifically on Black Friday 2025 around 7pm, came to my aid. Chris didn’t hesitate to perform climbing shoe CPR, telling me all the potential good deals I should get, and unprompted, brought these shoes to my dying body. Although Chris, bless him, admitted to me that climbing shoes weren’t his expertise but that he would try his best, I knew I had absolutely nothing to be worried about.nnThat’s when Chris suddenly vanished and I had flatlined when the climbing shoes I wanted were a size too large. Behold, a new character: Lucas with the flow! This young gentleman, last second, saved me with a shoe size down right before I was gone. And best of all, he was so polite.nnAs I stumbled to the register to pay for my purchase, I had realized the products were too heavy for my malnourished self. Behold, Michael I think working at the register ensured that I was not leaving empty handed. Michael signed me up with their rewards program which instantly spammed me with 4 emails but that’s beside the point! But the reason Michael is a superstar is because he told me verbatim, “Wait, don’t tap your card. Let me make sure you have all the possible discounts.” The second he said that, I instantly lost the urge to play Valorant. I got to the ground and immediately did 10 burpees, and grabbed the green beans I had been storing in my jacket pocket and ate them right there.nnOn a real note, I was so pleased by these three gentlemen for giving me a genuinely great first impression on MEC. I will be coming back to shop!
Exceptional service from Stella in the shoe department when I was picking out my hiking boots! Her advice helped me narrow down between three different shoes I was choosing from. She pointed out the ramp for me to use to simulate walking up and down hiking trails, and she was able to help me decide between sizes. Overall this location always has super helpful staff and amazing deals on outdoor equipment! Always fun going to this location and browsing as well.

Overall very good outdoor supply store. For top notch camping supplies, this is your go to store. The amount of lightweight camping items they have with the exact metric and imperial weight of said items is super handy. It would be very convenient with MEC if tools, knives, firearms, and the respective items having to do with said items were sold here as well. There are a few little knives and flare guns and such but still a very limited selection. The other problem with MEC is most of the prices are very, very high. If one is well-off to rich that’s totally fine but for lower to middle class it can limit options significantly. It also would be very handy to have more tactical military/police style gear here, but ah well. Still overall a decent store if you have the money and want high quality hiking/camping/outdoor gear
MEC has everything for the outdoor enthusiast. Customer service is top notch. I really want to make clear, then3 star rating reflects the overpriced items in the store. It has a wide range of everything one might need for the next adventure. I recommend MEC.
