I had a stroller tire that seemed to have trouble retaining the air. I googled and found this place was close to me. I called and they said they would be able to repair any tire puncture as long as the tire is 12.5 in diameter which it was as mine was s jogging stroller. The staff person who finally helped me out was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He was also very understanding in giving an extra hand as I came in with my toddler. I really liked how well they did business. Not to mention he repaired the tire and gave us the old tire tube back as he could not locate the puncture. I was very pleased with their service and their helpfulness and would definitely recommend this store to anyone who has to get their cycles or strollers repaired. Great place and lovely gentlemen on staff!!!

Last year I accompanied my best friend who was new to mountain biking and looking to buy her first bike. We had the misfortune of having to deal with a sales rep, who, in spite of being very clear on what she was looking for, and her maximum price, proceeded to try to sell her a two year-old bike that was much too large for her and well above her budget. It was clear he was trying to get rid of the bike and went as far as blatantly lying to her by telling her that the Large bike would fit her fine once she switched to a shorter stem (she is 5'7" and barely fits a medium).
A year later I returned, hoping maybe that was a one off experience. Once again, I was helped by the same sales rep. I was looking to drop about $400-$600 on a full face helmet and while there was no attempts at scamming, I couldn't help but feel that I was inconveniencing him. I received no information on the helmets unless I asked specifically (MIPS? Any good feedback from your customers?). They didn't have the helmet I was looking for, and that's okay, but the whole attitude of their sales rep (it felt as though he was always on the verge of rolling his eyes or sighing) in combination with my previous experience has really put me off. In future I will make the drive out to North Van to get my gear and parts.

Sorry to report I had a very unpleasant experience yesterday at this store. This was very surprising to me, as I (and many friends) had good service in the past. I took my well-used mountain bike in, asking for a tune-up to get it in good working order. A young guy approached me. The store was quite busy. I explained it’s my spare bike and I might keep it or give it away, once it’s working well, and that last summer the gears weren’t changing, and the brakes needed checking. I knew the general price of a tune-up and was ready to leave the bike as long as they needed. The guy lifted the bike onto a repair rack and started fiddling with things. After a few minutes said “there I fixed it with a quarter turn, fifty dollars please.” An attempt at a joke I guess. He started mumbling about ring sizes and chain degradation 75% and a few other things. I questioned him then on what was his recommendation please so I could get the bike fixed. Oddly, he told me it’s probably good enough to ride. I questioned a few more things, like the brakes, and he said “the brakes aren’t touching.” Well yes, I knew they needed adjusting or replacing. It was all very confusing to me, why he was not able to just accept the bike for a tune-up. He began again with more comments about the style of shifting on the front and the back, rambling really, and I suspected he was either making fun of the bike or me, and I finally interrupted and said, “Look, I thought I could bring in my bike and leave it with you and pay to get a tune-up done. Can I do that?” He said it would be $80 (I knew that) but he didn’t think it was worth spending any money on. At this point I was fed up and told him I’d just take my bike and try it again, and I left – knowing I still wanted a tune-up done but not at a place with this kind of terrible service. I don’t write this review lightly. I’m not a complainer. I have taken the time to write positive reviews for other small businesses. Hoping Kinetic will read about how I was treaded and teach the employee how to create a positive customer experience.

I got there hoping they would replace my back wheel tube but it was already 6:45 PM and they close at 7. He explained it couldn't be done the same day because they were about to close. I told him I needed the bike in the morning and I couldn't leave it overnight. He understood and decided to get the job done. He not only did well but also gave me tons of advices about my e-bike. He also did some minor adjustments and recommended some replacement parts. It was 7:30 PM when he finished. He worked 30 minutes after his shift just to help me. And at the end he charged me only $16 for the tube and the service. It is no the nearest bike shop to my house but it definitely became my favourite!
