Historic manor home built over 1798-1800 offering guided tours and a tea room full of elegant Georgian simplicity.

Story

This beautiful Georgian manor home was built by John McFarland and his family in 1800. Restored by the Niagara Parks Commission over the 1940s and 50s, you can now come to enjoy its simple yet elegant splendour. We offer guided tours of the historic front wing throughout the day, and our tea room boasts delightful homemade baked goods, a lovely lunch menu, and proper Afternoon Tea. Reservations recommended. Open 7 days a week from Mother's Day to Labour Day; weekends only from Labour Day to Halloween.

Our family had an excellent visit to the Christmas Special at McFarland House on December 9th. The house was beautifully decorated in the style of the period and each room was enhanced by the friendly and informative staff. The activities in the conservatory were appealing to all of us - ranging in age from a three year old to a grandparent! We all agreed that it was a very enjoyable afternoon.

The historic and well kept atmosphere here really adds to the experience of enjoying a high tea in the afternoon. I am a repeat visitor and enjoy this quiet little place every time I come. Be sure to make a reservation!

Nice place to visit for form tea. There is a park and picnic area.

Tea and atmosphere was great (I'm personally not a tea person). Staff was friendly and helpful. Cakes were good but a little too dense for my tastes.

I'm lactose intolerant and found there were not many food options for me to have. The staff was very accommodating and made sure I found something I could have without any Dairy in it. Lovely experience all in all.
