Marshall Fabrics

My goodness, this an incredible store! My father and I came here in search of corduroy and found a large variety of it! We’d never gone to a store like this, so had to ask a stranger for help, but it was an easy process! Also the amount of thread and floss available for embroidery is to be desired. Best of all, it seems they are about to open another store in Calgary. So, obviously people are still strong into crafting, keeping Marshalls Fabrics alive and expanding!

We have been coming here for years for smaller projects and we love the selection and service.nnThis last visit was to buy upholstery fabric to reupholster our couch. The staff gave us lots of guidance about how to judge the quality of the fabrics and helped us go through sample books to place a special order.nnGlad we finally just asked for help as we were having trouble finding what we needed, in the right quantity, and at the right price - Highly recommend them!

I visit Marshall Fabrics a few times a week for over a decade and I love the selection and staff there. So kind and also very inclusive. I especially love the ever growing selection of quality fashion fabrics and endless shades of satin- the shop is truly a gem of our city- there really isn’t a lot of large fabric shops like Marshall in Western Canada.

My review today is based purely on service.nWe came in today to find a perfect match material to create a couch cushion cover. Found a close match and went to the measuring table. A woman, no name tag, provided service. She was very rude. Measured out and told us the approximate length. The fabric had major crease marks on it. She reluctantly offered us 10% off. Then she would not fold it up for us as we had touched the fabric. We were so taken back by this. Terrible service and this woman should be released as she has 0% customer service skills. A bad experience today. Sincerely.

Got the fabric we needed easily enough, but the some of the staff were horrible. I had one employee full on glare daggers at me as she walked by me at the cutting tables, like she wasnt even a little bit subtle about it. Then the lady who checked me out was not pleasant either. I had shown her my student ID to get a 10% discount and she audibly sighed and stared at my ID for super long, like she was trying to figure out if it was fake.nThe guy who cut my fabric was nice, but after those other interactions, it just ruined the entire experience.nI don't know what it is about this place, but everyone always looks so miserable.
