Dr. Roscoe is the only Avian Certified Veterinarian (DABVP avian) in the Eastern Ontario Region.

Very happy with the service at Lynwood Animal Hospital. Recently our 16 year-old daughter took her budgie who had a problem with one of its leg/foot to Dr. Poulton. It was the first time there as we needed a vet that offered avian care and not all of them do. We (her parents) told her they may have to put the bird down but we didn’t prepare her for having to ASK for it if the money was too much. I called my daughter while she was still sitting in the parking lot just after the appointment. She told me the whole course of treating the fractured leg and medicine and vitamins was going to cost 500.00. She was a little shocked by having to pay that but willing to do so. She had already given a 300.00 deposit for this. This is a girl who has been working and saving her money, made the vet appointment as well as drove to it, all by herself. I told my daughter that it was her decision but she should know that euthanasia was an option. This bird was 11 years old – by all accounts well past the average lifespan for domestic budgies! She could go through the treatment only to have it die of natural causes at any time. She made the hard decision to go ahead and have the bird put down. I called the receptionist, Melissa who kindly said my daughter could come back in and talk to the vet again. She readily said they would reimburse her for the difference she paid for treatment to euthanize instead, which they did. The vet did it for her then and there rather than have her come back another day, and this was a full hour after her initial appointment. She explained everything to our daughter before and as it was happening and constantly validated the decision. They even lit the candle on the desk that signifies someone is saying goodbye to a beloved pet. It was a difficult situation but Dr. Poulton and her staff (Melissa) handled it with sensitivity and compassion.

Well organized vet that is clean and gentle. They also treat birds as well as larger animals. But they lose a star because they quoted me prices without including taxes.

We bring our entire pet family (birds, dogs and bunny) to Lynwood Veterinary Clinic and truly feel that Dr. Roscoe and all of the staff at Lynwood genuinely are key to the health and well being of our pets. Over the years, we have had a number of pets and numerous Vets, and Lynwood is the first where we feel that the care of our pets is really the priority. Of course, there is a cost for veterinary care, but it is the sense that cost is secondary to care which keeps us returning to this remarkable clinic.

I can't express how much I appreciate this clinic. I brought my two bunnies here (it was a pre-surgical exam and Wellness CBC for my female). I absolutely loved my vet Doctor Harrison, she did a very thorough exam, and even let me have a look inside my bunnies mouth. Vet visits are very stressful especially for rabbits, but Dr. Harrison was very calm cool and collected which made the bunnies feel the same. Dr crouched down and wiped both my bunnies heads with a damp gauze to communicate trust. Dr Harrison explained everything I needed to know, even asked me questions about my other bun (he didn't have the appointment, he was there for moral support for my other bun). She also explained her suspicions with E.C and gave me preventative medications to administer at home a week prior to my females spay because E.C can cause a multitude of problems in immuno-suppressed, young, and even stressed out rabbits- she discussed this all with me and even gave me a booklet about all the information I need to know. Dr. Harrison also replies quickly with bloodwork results or questions you may have after your appointment. Definitely the most Rabbit Savvy veterinarian I've met! The clinic itself is very clean and welcoming, all the staff members are professional and friendly! The services are definitely expensive, but the quality of care is top notch! People don't normally realize where their money is going with vet offices. The money goes to the lab machines, the equipment, and all the supplies they use- Clinics only charge a tiny mark up otherwise they won't get anything back to support themselves. It's not like a human hospital where the government/tax payers pays for everything. In conclusion, I recommend this clinic to anyone and everyone if you want the quality care your pet deserves! Penelope and Lemington thank all the staff at LAH especially Dr. Harrison.

I would recommend this hospital for birds, but not for dogs (especially Dr. Flegel). Our dog got really sick with Lyme and was misdiagnosed, although I checked all the symptoms and asked particularly for Lyme testing. I was offered a treatment of $4,000 value (instead of simple blood test) and made felt like I am a very bad owner not willing to pay for the treatment. Thanks God, emergency vet was really professional, she confirmed Lyme diagnose and call us next few days with instructions and followups (no call from Lynwood was made, although when we left, the dog was really sick, and as a doctor, I would worry for the animal). Our experience with Dr. Poulton was fine, and we had another doctor before (she left the clinic) - she was also good, but one unlucky and serious case made us change the vet, you cannot risk the health of your pet.
