Ottawa Animal / Veterinary Emergency Hospital care. Our state-of-the art facility, located centrally in Ottawa just off highway 417 at Vanier Parkway, provides care weekdays from 6 pm until 8:00 am the next morning, and 24 hours on weekends and holidays.

"The Ottawa Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital is the first hospital of its kind; a veterinarian-owned, 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital serving Ottawa, Gatineau, and the surrounding area. We welcome emergency transfers and walk-in patients from any clinic in the region. Specialty services require an appointment with the proper specialist.We have a fully-equipped, 3,000 square-foot emergency and intensive care facility. Our hospital is capable of dealing with critically injured or ill dogs, cats, exotics including birds and reptiles and pocket pets.In an emergency situation, please call immediately."

I took my cat in as she had consumed a toxic flower. We were seen quickly & provided with excellent care. The staff were efficient & walked me through the whole process & all my options. They took great care of my cat & helped me feel safe, comfortable & reassured. They were gentle with my cat & kind to us throughout our visit. She is okay now and comfortable back at home. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for their support through this scary experience.
Vet that helped us was very compassionate and kind. She took great care of us and our pet during her final moments. I do have to say the prices are exorbitant even if we unfortunately didn't come back home with our pet.nOverall no complaints towards the care system and I am actually very satisfied with their level of care, but prices and payment options should definitely be revised.
My bunny went into respiratory distress and I called but unfortunately they are not open 24/7 as indicated. Their outgoing message said that they would be open at 7 am on Sunday so I monitored my bun and waited to bring her in at 7. When I show up there’s a sign that says that they are actually closed. No indicator of when they would open. I understand that things happen but I am disappointed by the lack of communication, especially given that they’re the only animal hospital that care for exotic pets. Luckily my bun’s breathing has returned to semi-normal.
Amazing staff ! Super kind and understanding. This is the second time I brought Pearl in for an emergency vet visist. I have been truly impressed both times but everyone’s care and dedication. I refuse to go to any other emergency vet hospital as they are the absolute best.nnSending all my positive thoughts as Pearl is currently in their care
I had to bring my cat there to have her put down as her quality of life was deteriorating with the onset of a sudden health issue. From entry at the Emergency to when I left empty handed, you will be glad you brought in your pet to people who really care about the work they do. Thank you tremendously everyone for making a difficult decision easier.
