We have lived in our home for quite a few years now and the paint seriously needs to be updated. I must say the team at RONA’s paint department in SE Calgary exceeded my expectations during our recent home renovation and update.nnThis winter, my wife and I embarked on a full refresh including some ambitious updates — think bold statement walls and even a stamped ceiling finish in the formal dining room. It was crucial we had the right products, tools, and—most importantly—guidance.nnThe paint department at RONA delivered all three.nnThe staff were not only knowledgeable but genuinely passionate about helping us bring our vision to life. They recommended specialty rollers and high-quality paints that gave us the smooth, elevated finish we were after. One associate even walked us through techniques for layering textures and picking tones that worked with our lighting and architectural details. We have a lot of oak in our home and we wanted to have something that complimented the oak while updating it.nnTheir insight into color matching was spot on. The earth tones and warm greens we chose added exactly the sophistication we were going for. And that stamped ceiling? A showstopper — made possible with the right tools and their expert advice. The stamped finish ceiling looked like a California knock down ceiling but done with paint.nnIf you're serious about design and want a team that treats your project like their own, RONA’s paint department is absolutely worth a visit. It’s rare to find this level of service and style insight in a big box store. Highly recommend.
Had what I wanted in stock other R+ didn't have enough.nnWebsite aisle/section directions accurate and stock levels correctly listed. Items easy to find.nnThere were a few scraped/gouged items within the itinerary. Stock levels allowed me to pick what I thought were the best quality items baseboards and case trim.nnAppropriate cart available without having to search for it.nnOn the whole a decent transaction.
I arrived at 10 am ish and walked through to the fasteners isle. Along the way I asked for help. Arrived at the isle, neat and tidy. The bolts that were in the containers were all the correct size based on the label. Bags were neat and tidy with a pen avail to write down the bin code. Everything was labeled well. Once the person arrived to help, I found all that I needed. Easy check out.
I don’t write reviews all that often but the service I received today has me continually thinking back and realizing it needs to be recognized. I had a shower that wouldn’t shut off and I researched the repair and replacement part I needed. I went to the store with my 7 year old son. We were greeted in passing by the older and I mean that in an endearing way gentleman. He gave my son a fist bump and asked if we needed help. I didn’t really but I figured he could help me find it faster. He asked me a couple questions and then found the part. To my shock, he wrote on the package and said there would be no charge. It was unnecessary but I keep thinking about it and thinking what a nice gesture it was. Even in these big box stores there are employees that prove themselves to be wonderful humans. I didn’t get this man’s name but he deserves to be recognized.
One of your employees, I believe her name was Vaness, seemed extremely uninterested in assisting me. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome during the interaction, and it made me want to leave immediately. The item I was looking for wasn’t available regardless, so I ended up purchasing it from Home Depot instead.
