Long & McQuade Musical Instruments

Fabulous! I was treated with the utmost care in customer service. Everyone was so helpful and ready to put their heads together to solve problems and answer any questions I had!! A stand out employee was Johnny Lucas, who took his time trouble shooting my issue and didn't rest til we got some sort of answer. He was delightful, helpful, knowledgeable and professional, yet with a great friendly manner. Thanks Johnny and staff at Long & McQuade, for making my experience a Great and memorable one! :)

I went to the store today on Boxing Day . I was interested in buying a pair of monitors . I spoke with the gentlemen at pro audio ( middle aged man). I will keep this professional and not mention his name at this point . I asked him if they could match the price from another retail store and since I mostly purchase at long and McQuade I wanted also this time to give them the business . The gentleman tells me he has in stock only the floor model and mentioned they have been there only for 2 weeks . I asked him if he is sure because I have seen those speakers for longer there . Then he comes back to me and states that the speakers are actually used and gives me a price. I did my calculations and the price he gave was the same as buying a pair of new ones at the other retail store with the discount on Boxing Day . I replied to him that I don’t save anything and that you are selling me a used pair for the same price of a new pair . He responds in front of other clients “ this is the price , I don’t know if you save anything or not I don’t care “ . I am sorry but it would have been much more professional if he just responded “ that’s the best I can do at this point , sorry . Very arrogant and not professional on handling a sales order . I wanted to talk to a manager at that point but didn’t bother since they were busy due to Boxing Day .In the end I left and went to the Bloor st location and got the deal there on brand new ones . They matched the price and it was a done deal . Never shopping at the North York location again ,unless they change their attitude .

I purchased all my daughters musical instruments and equipment at the Brampton location and was always happy with the service I received. After moving to Toronto I went to the North York location to purchase a turntable. What a mistake. The sales associate in the DJ department was more interested in socializing with his co workers than helping me. He did not know his products. He repeatedly gave me the wrong information . I guess he didn't like being wrong and felt inadequate so he then suggested I should visit Play da Record in Toronto to get rid of me. No worries, from now on I'll take my business else where . After all, L&M isn't the only musical instrument/ DJ supply store. Edit The google email address provided by you comes back to me as undeliverable.

The store is fine, but the guitar tech service should be avoided. I brought in a guitar which I knew had a slight warp in the neck which I wanted to see if they would point out when I got the guitar back. When I checked it in, I wasn't even asked how I wanted the guitar set up. The guitar went in tuned and set up to drop C. The guitar also went in with brand new screws for the locking nut. When I picked the guitar up, it came back in standard tuning and the action was raised 2mm. The fretboard wasn't oiled and the frets weren't polished (pretty standard work done on a set up/cleaning). It came back with rusted/oxidized screws in the locking nut so these are clearly aren't mine. And as for the warp? It wasn't even mentioned. Either the tech noticed and didn't say anything, or missed it completely. He also removed a piece of tape that was sealing a mod I had my previous tech do in the electronics cavity. Other than to look at the connections, there was really no need to go digging around in there and pull stuff out. The upside? The floating trem is sitting straight. If my previous tech hadn't quit his job at another store, I wouldn't have even bothered to take the guitar to L&M, but since I'm stuck looking for a new tech, I gave this place a try. I'll use the store as a last resort when I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else first, but I'll never bring another guitar here to be worked on and pay another $100 for what work was done which was, effectively, a string change.

I had to get some microphone accessories, getting back into rapping, and at first it was hard to get help, so I went to the front counter and found such a great man, who helped me get all the gear I needed. I was going to give this location a worse review but the man behind the counter saved the day. Other than that you can find most music products in this store at reasonable pricing.
