Well maintained trail and great views. This is an amazing spot to enjoy the sunset. The trail is quite long but with frequent spots to sit and rest. There is an ample spaces for cars in the parking lot too. Great place will regularly go there for sure.
Best place for a walk. Very clean and quiet environment. You can have fresh and clean air. Very calm and best place to visit for a mood fix. while you walk you can enjoy free dancing from squirrels and rabbits. Scenic views from long lake. I love to visit more and more here.
It is so nice to have parks like this so close to everything in the city. It is just a few minutes from many residential areas in Halifax and it is easy to reach. There are many good parking spots. I walked the park in the winter, but I expect it would be even nicer in the summer as there are beaches and places where you could swim. The trails are well groomed and easy to walk on. there are a few hills but most of the trails are flat and smooth. Most of the trails are through wooded areas but a lot of them are close to the lake as well. It is worth it to continue around to the dam and the sluce ways.
A trail lover's dream come true. So many places to visit and do many different ways it can change depending on the time of year so the main trail is never boring. Great for biking, walking, running and ATVb lovers. Tip : The loops off main trail are super fun but watch out for bear and moose Playground: None Restrooms: No restrooms as far as I have seen. Dog-friendliness: Awesome place to go with your dog if it's trained. Keep on leash.
If you ignore the tall buildings in the horizon, it feels like you’re way out in the woods! I did the kayak rentals with some friends and it was great! They supplied kayaks, life jackets and let us leave a few small items keys, etc in their hut while out on the water.
Trail can be a bit confusing, lots of branches, forks, and cut throughs. Clean. Lots to look at. Was quiet May 1st. On 5k hike over an hour and a half, saw 4 people. Paths are rooty, some cool streams and rivers that are bridged over. Lots there to keep someone interested poking around with all the routes to explore. GPS worked fine there with Alltrails.
Very nice easy trail. Stayed on the main trail because it was my first time there since the opening of the park. Dog-friendliness: Dogs must be on leash
Great place to hike, close to the city but still quiet. Nice little getaway, great for swimming.
A beautiful lake to chill and hike at. The water is nice and warm in summers as well. Though you have to find a spot there, it doesn't have designated seating areas like beaches
This is spring. For the best view, you have to go inside and close to the water. I wish there were a place for a group of people to put a tent, and picnic.
