A magnificent piece of nature within the citynMy wife and I weren't really interested in going to the playground, we came here for the park itself and it's canal. It seems like a regular small park, but it's very nice.nLots of squirrels and ducks. Even though the park is in the city, there is very pleasant clean air here. Lots of benches for rest, which are very well located, with good angles, so that it would be nice to look at the water. You can also go kayaking here one of the photos. Not that there's really a good path for that, but if you came to the park with kids, it would be an interesting activity for them. For a place within the city, it's great to relax in nature. Definitely a must-see at least once to decide if will be your favorite oneif you live nearby, or just to see a new place at least once.
This park is a beautiful getaway from the city life. This was my second time visiting this park. I visited this park last time around 7-8 years ago. There is plenty of parking space available and has a small cafe for snacking. Nice trails and kayaking rentals option is available. My kids loved walking around and enjoyed being so close with birds and squirrels.
One of my favourite parks in the HRM. The canal in the middle of it makes it so beautiful. The thick forest right in the city feels like a different world. The park is easily accessible by public transport. Also quite a good number of parking are available. Restrooms are adjacent to the parking area. The canoe looks very good but I didn't try. Loved the picnic area at the end of the walking trail. There are a lot of friendly squirrels who will love the peanuts. There are mosquitos so you may consider bringing some repellent. Overall a good place to spend a summer or fall weekend.
I've been here too many times to count and it never stops amazing me how lucky we are to have such a little gem of a park nestled so close to the core of the city. Beautiful walking paths any time of the year, a fantastic paddle up the canal in the warmer months, and a great place to bring a dog to let them get some exercise. I haven't gone swimming here but judging by the amount of people that are here in the summer I assume it is a great little beach!
This park is absolutely stunning! The trail winding between the water on both sides creates such a picturesque and serene environment. The waterfall along the trail adds an extra touch of magic. And of course, the beach is just perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun… always go here in evening which makes my evening perfect
