Very nice park setting. Well taken care off and of course the memorial which is a sad reminder of what happened in the city on December 6th of 1917.
This is a cute little park tucked off to the side of a residential area. It is bus friendly. Bus route 7 as of current post. From what I see it is well maintained. There are a couple different entrances all of which have varying inclines depending on where you enter. So be aware of that if that is a concern while on foot. There are a couple of spots to sit and/or eat throughout the park and near the entrances. They have bathrooms which is nice. I haven't used them, so use at your own risk. Dog-friendliness: Most dogs I saw were off leashso reactive dogs owners etc, be aware. There is a decent sized field for them to play ball or run around.
It is a very nice playground with a washroom, water fountains, and garden, parking, and benches. Has swing sets, slides, and things to climb.
This memorial is very well done. It presents the history of the Halifax Explosion in a different and respectful way. As a space, it is a wonderful hilltop that serves as a happy open space full of sun and wind.
Very nice place to go for a walk, take your dog, or play sports. It has a few access points and a small parking lot. But street parking is also available within couple minutes. The park is in the heart of the city and is surrounded by lots of houses and streets.
A great place for taking kids out and having some workout on the playground. The lawn is pretty friendly to the fur families. Not much of a trail or hike though. The autumn vibe up from the hill is meditation.
Nice playground, lots of space, out of the radio so not too many people there at a time, seems to have more parental supervision than other parks, feels safer to bring my daughter here
This is a hidden nice park sitting on a small hill in the north end of Halifax. Great for a leisure stroll with your friends or family on a beautiful sunny day and escape the hustle and bustle of the city life. The bell tower monument represents the victim who lost their lives in the Halifax Explosion a hundred years ago. You can overlook the view across the Halifax harbour and see part of Dartmouth downtown.
We arrived as the bells chimed 10am, it was really nice. Wonderful natural playground made out of logs and wooden structures and a big field to run around. My daughter wants to keep going back to it. She especially liked the rock climbing wall that once on top, you can go down a slide to come back down. Did that more than a few times!
Nice place for evening walks. Off leash dog park makes it more beautiful. There are picnic tables available too.
