From the outside, this place looks like it has seen better days. It is in desperate need of a paint job and major exterior repairs. When we arrived, the inn had Christmas lights displayed, and extension cords were running through window openings. While the rooms were adequate, the towels smelled of mold and the tap water had a strange stench. Bed linens were clean and comfortable,
While this may be the closest place to stay if visiting the Culinary Institute, one would be better suited paying a bit more and consider staying in bordering Poughkeepsie.

(August, 2009) My wife and I stayed at Le Petit Chateau after a short trip to Niagara Falls and the Finger Lakes, where we had also stayed at B & B's. This was definitely the perfect ending to our trip and the best of our accommodations. Too many B & B's seem to be a museum of bric-a-brac, but that is definitely not the case here. The inn has a country charm about it, with spare but comfortable furniture, the bathroom was recently renovated and spotless, the staff were friendly, and the food was terrific! The convenient location to CIA, where we had an excellent dinner, the Roosevelt home and the Vanderbilt mansion means we hope to be back for another stay.
