La Torre Taqueria

I come from the Detroit area and there are plenty of taco trucks all over. I had to move to Ypsilanti and I was surprised to find this place. Best Mexican place. Everything just like in Detroit. The place is small however the food is just perfect. The people are very friendly, fast and speak in my native tongue.

I love this place, it's a mainstay with me and my friends, there's something for everyone and it's very affordable. I would say make sure to double check your order before you leave if you take out, a couple times my dairy intolerant friend has gotten "cheesed" even though she specified no cheese on her order. Not a big deal, but can't hurt to make sure.

Def glad we went here for dinner! There was a wait (which was a great sign for me). Tried the tacos (chicken, beef and fish), quesadilla (sausage and beef mix), pork tamale, guacamole and chips. Super good. Absolutely recommend to everyone. We did take out because I love sour cream with Mexican food and I didn’t know see if they had sour cream. There are a few tables inside where you can dine. I’m excited to come back and try some other stuff. Side note: they have some native dishes that if you’re brave you should try! Ie. Tripe, tongue and other fun things!!!

Five stars for quality in context with other taquerias in the area. As a a Southern California native, I can honestly say this is the closest to a proper taco in Washtenaw county as you're going to find (close seconds go to Tmaz and Chela's). Highest recommendation goes to the carne asada/chorizo mix taco. Friendly service with a smile from the staff. Affordable, family-friendly spot with limited seating.
