Mount Pleasant's Asian specialty market located in East Vancouver. A great place to shop when I am in the area. They do stock fresh produce, meats, fish and other ingredients. I love cooking Asian fusion recipes, a well stocked store like this helps. Usually easy to find free street parking. Recommended
Absolutely love this place! Prices are much better than all the big chain supermarkets. On most days the quality is way better too. People here are very nice!nnIt felt strange not shopping at a big store but once I did I never went back
From produce to convenience products, this grocery store has it all. Typical of an Asian grocery store, it has narrow aisles, lots of discounts, and a good variety of products. The prices are reasonable and you can find Asian sauces of all kinds. Open early and close late. Accessible by transit.
Pros:nKind and helpful staff. No need for ‘fake smiles’.nExtremely diverse inventory for all backgrounds. Great for treasure hunting.nFresh produce available.nOddly cheaper than big chain stores.nReady to eat items available, including banchan dishes.nAccessible by public transit.nRespectable and helpful fresh seafood section.nTake cash and credit/debit cards.nnConsnVery narrow aisles.
Another disappointing episode:nnBe careful when you packaged products.nCheck the expiration dates as Kim’s Mart doesn’t check or care about them.nnAlso make sure to look at the products inside to see if there is any molds in them.nnI found giant molds everywhere in grape tomatoes and carrots.nn————nBE CAREFUL!! You may ruin your clothes and have the stink kimchi smell all over your bag and clothes. Just got this delicious kimchi but the container is leaky at the bottom. And the kimchi liquid stained everywhere in my bag and clothes. The cashier bagged the kimchi in an extra plastic bag but the bag itself is also torn. Not happy about this at all!!
